Briefing of the Joint Forces’s Press Center at 18:00, 1 July 2019

Beginning from 00:00 July 1, the enemy has violated the ceasefire regime 10 times.

Units of the Russian Federation Armed Forces opened fire on the positions of our troops using weapons prohibited by the Minsk Agreements, namely 120-mm and 82-mm caliber mortars, and also grenade launchers of the miscellaneous systems, weapons carried by armored vehicles of the infantry, large-caliber machine guns, and small arms.

In the area of responsibilities of the operative-tactical group “EAST,” the adversary opened fire on the Joined Forces’ positions five times:

Three times near the village of VODIANE, from the direction of PIKUZY and UZHIVKA – using grenade launchers of the miscellaneous systems, weapons carried by armored vehicles of the infantry, small arms, and sniper fire;

Near AVDIYIVKA, from the direction of MINERALNE – using 120-mm caliber mortars;

In the vicinity of MARYINKA, from the direction of TRUDIVSKE – using 120-mm and 82-mm caliber mortars, and grenade launchers of the miscellaneous systems.

In the area of responsibilities of the operative-tactical group “NORTH,” the adversary opened fire on the Joined Forces’ positions five times:

Twice in the vicinity of NOVOLUHANSKE from the direction of DOLOMITNE and BAIRAK – using 120-mm and 82-mm caliber mortars;

Near ZAITSEVE, from the direction of ZAITSEVE – using an 82-mm caliber mortar and an automated grenade launcher;

Near the village of LUHANSKE, from the direction of KALYNIVKA – using 120- and 82-mm caliber mortars, grenade launchers of the miscellaneous systems, a large-caliber machine gun, and small arms.

Today, the Russian occupiers have, cynically and treacherously, fired on a medical vehicle that belonged to one of the Joined Forces’ combat units. The vehicle, a Hummer, was transporting a wounded serviceman near the village of VODIANE. The fire was opened using an anti-tank guided missile launcher.

As a result of the direct hit by the missile, one of the Ukrainian troops was killed on the spot. Another service-person was wounded. Later, she, a military medic, died because of the wounds that were incompatible with life.

Over June 30, the units of the Russian Federation’s Armed Forces have violated the ceasefire regime 23 times. Twelve of these violations were done using 122-mm caliber artillery systems and 120-mm and 82-mm caliber mortars prohibited by the Minsk Agreements. The adversary also fired on our defenders using grenade launchers of the systems, weapons carried by armored vehicles of the infantry, large-caliber machine guns, and small arms.

The facts of disturbing fire were documented near towns and villages of LEBEDYNSKE, MARYINKA, OPYTNE, SHYROKYNE, PAVLOPIL, AVDIYIVKA, PISKY, TALAKIVKA, TROYITSKE, NOVOTROYITSKE, KRASNOHORIVKA, VODIANE, VERKHNYOTROYITSKE, LUHANSKE, NOVOLUHANSKE, and NOVOTOSHKIVSKE.

On June 30, the representatives of the National Police and the National Guard of Ukraine who act as parts of the Joined Forces have uncovered 5 thefts and 5 cases of illegal narcotics possession. Five persons were arrested on suspicion of participating in the activities of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and were transferred to the judicial organs. Twenty cases of misdemeanor were documented.

Yesterday, more than 20,000 persons and 2,600 vehicles have entered the Joined Forces’ jurisdiction through controlled points of entry. Fifteen thousand people and 2,100 vehicles have exited through the same points. Thirty-four persons were denied the right of passing the demarcation line.

The military and civil administrative and judicial organs in the region of the operation conducted by the Joined Forces worked according to their routine schedules. The social, political, and humanitarian situation remains under the Joined Forces’ control.
