A Nest of Electronic Warfare Forces of Russian Federation in Luhansk Tax Administration Office Building

on 02/08/2015 | | Main News | News Print This Post Print This Post

Near the end of 2014 a strange noise was heard when operating amateur radio stations in Luhansk. Sometimes this almost completely interrupted transmission.

This is what a blogger patria-0-muerte writes about this:

In addition, when working in the city center, abnormally high levels of radio emission were recorded. Sometimes they “interrupted” the frequencies at which the mobile phones work. Similar problems arise even among those who catch television or radio station broadcast signals at various frequencies. Interference arising at the residents of the Kotsubynsky Street creates an impression of living next to some aircraft radar. Many people complain of getting headaches, heart problems, blood pressure dropping- typical symptoms of powerful electromagnetic radiation.

Walking around the center of Luhansk with a device for radio direction-finding (which are considered illegal in the LPR) we were about to be shocked – the transmitting center which appeared in town is several times more powerful than the regional television center tower!

In the area of the 11-storeys Tax Administration Office building there are some transmitters work which are five times more powerful! Considering that the courtyard of the building is closed, with plenty of people wearing Russian military uniforms, it’s reasonable to make a conclusion that this is the location of some headquarters of electronic warfare forces of the Russian Federation.

It’s hard to say what kind of equipment they have and what it is used for. But we can get an approximate idea of the power and effect from the following video.

Any idea what frequencies these things are transmitting at or a range of frequencies that they’re interfering with? That would give a clue as to what they’re being used for. The Radiated Power helps, but frequency is much more of an important indicator.
