Part 5: PSNR-8"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>InformNapalm volunteer intelligence community continues a series of publications with \u00a0\u00a0analysis of the data extracted from a computer of the reconnaissance commander of the so-called Second Army corps of the People\u2019s Militia (2nd CPM), a unit of the hybrid Russian occupation troops in Luhansk Oblast.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We should remind here that the data for this article was obtained as a result of a successful installation of specific software on a work computer of the reconnaissance commander by hacktivists from the Ukrainian Cyber Alliance (UCA) https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/uca\/ (FalconsFlame, Trinity, Ruh8, CyberHunta). The first part of the analysis is available at the following link<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/en\/reconnaissance-commander-of-the-2nd-army-corps-in-the-focus-of-the-uca-part-1-orlan-10-drone\/\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/en\/reconnaissance-commander-of-the-2nd-army-corps-in-the-focus-of-the-uca-part-1-orlan-10-drone\/<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. It disclosed some details of the use of the Orlan-10 drones by the Russian command in the Donbas. In <a href=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/en\/reconnaissance-commander-2nd-army-corps-focus-uca-part-2-uav-forpost\/\">the second part<\/a><\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0we talked about the use of the Forpost drones. Based on one of the reports, <a href=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/en\/crash-site-of-russian-takhion-drone-141169-found\/\">the third part<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0disclosed the place where the Takhion drone (tail number 141169) of the 138<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">th<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of Russian Armed forces crashed. <a href=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/33253-dokladnaya-zapiska-obron-odessa\/\">The forth part<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0was dedicated to the analysis of the memorandum on the commander of the illegal armed group called Special Operations Brigade \u201cOdessa\u201d. In the fifth part we will disclose information about the Russian portable ground reconnaissance station PSNR-8 Kredo-M1 (1L120). In particular, we are going to tell who, when and in what quantities was supplying the so called 2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">nd<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> CPM with this equipment. We should note that these stations are a standard issue in the Russian army, have never been supplied to Ukraine and are not available in Russian Army Surplus stores. Although the Russian president claimed otherwise&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Here is also some information about the station and its technical characteristics:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Placed in service in 2002. Developed in 1995-2001. Developer: NII \u201cStrela\u201d. Producer: NII \u201cStrela\u201d. This station automatically detects and locates the coordinates of moving ground, air and surface targets (single soldiers, units, armored objects, hovering and low-flying helicopters, motor boats and ships of various classes) and adjusts the fire of their artillery.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Crew: 2-3.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Operating frequency range: 2 cm (J).<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Scan zone:<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8211; \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/i> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">range \u2013 from 200 m to 32 km;<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8211; \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/i> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">azimuth \u2013 from 12\u00b0 to 180\u00b0 with an adjustment discrete of 12\u00b0;<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8211; \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/i> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">elevation &#8211; +\/-18 degrees.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Detection range for moving targets:<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8211; \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/i> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">person \u2013 7-8 km;<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8211; \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/i> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">tank \u2013 up to 16 km;<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8211; \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/i> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">truck \u2013 up to 32 km;<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8211; \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/i> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">155 mm shell explosion \u2013 up to 5 km.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Power consumption: 110W.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Median errors in determining the coordinates:<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8211; \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/i> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">for range: 25 m;<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8211; \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/i> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">for direction: \u00a000\u201305 m (0.3\u00b0).<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Continuous operation time: 24 hrs<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Weight: 51 kilogram<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">On March 21, 2015, reconnaissance commander of the 2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">nd<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> CPM (military unit L-77077) Colonel Sergeev (a regular Russian serviceman using a pseudonym which is a usual practice for<a href=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/en\/russian-lieutenant-colonel-exposes-kremlins-tactics-of-hybrid-war-against-ukraine\/\"> Russian officers sent on a mission<\/a> to illegal armed groups of the DPR\/LPR ) wrote a report addressed to the reconnaissance commander of the 12<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">th<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Reserve Command of the Russian Armed forces (Novocherkassk, Rostov oblast). The report stated that as of March 15, 2015, the Separate Battalion of the Corp (military unit L-55055) and the brigade\u2019s reconnaissance units have no PSNR-8 complexes. Sergeev asked the Russian command to supply those military units with 4 complexes: two for the Separate Reconnaissance Battalion and one for each reconnaissance companies from the 2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">nd<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and 4<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">th<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Brigades of the 2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">nd<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> CPM. At the same time, the report says that all available PSNR-8 were used in artillery units of Russian occupational forces in Luhansk Oblast.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/I42084_7253583449.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It is interesting that Sergeev\u2019s computer also contained photos (<a style=\"font-weight: 400\" href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/open?id=0B3Sv26TqMjwnanFfVUtfQkRZb2c\">link to the originals<\/a>)<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0that show the process of deploying of the PSNR-8 complex to the operating state. <\/span><b>Based on EXIF we conclude that pictures were taken on March 18, 2015 between 16:50 and 17:00 using a cell phone Samsung Galaxy Core (GT-I8262).<\/b><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Selection_150.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Selection_151.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Selection_152.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Note the condition of the complex. Apparently, it had been in use for a short period of time, and based on the date these pictures were taken, we conclude that we see one of the complexes that were supplied to the artillery units of the 2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">nd<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> CPM. Using OSINT, InformNapalm volunteers have previously identified the PSNR-8 complexes. However, in those instances [<a href=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/en\/russian-psnr-8m-portable-ground-reconnaissance-station-in-the-arsenal-of-separatists-of-the-dpr\/\">1<\/a>] , [<a href=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/en\/russian-kredo-m1-radar-system-olenivka\/\">2<\/a>] \u00a0[<a href=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/en\/russian-psnr-8-stations-used-by-militants-in-the-donbas\/\">3<\/a>]<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0the complexes belonged to the units of the 1<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">st<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Army Corps (Russian occupation forces in Donetsk Oblast).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Based on the foregoing, the following conclusions can be drawn: In March 2015 all artillery units of the 2<\/b><b>nd<\/b><b> CPM possessed Russian complexes PSNR-8. The reconnaissance commander of the 2<\/b><b>nd<\/b><b> CPM asked the reconnaissance commander of 12<\/b><b>th<\/b><b> Reserve Command of Russian Armed Forces (Novocherkassk, Rostov oblast) to supply his reconnaissance units with special military equipment. The first part of the analysis is available at the following link<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/en\/reconnaissance-commander-of-the-2nd-army-corps-in-the-focus-of-the-uca-part-1-orlan-10-drone\/\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/en\/reconnaissance-commander-of-the-2nd-army-corps-in-the-focus-of-the-uca-part-1-orlan-10-drone\/<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. It disclosed some details of the use of the Orlan-10 drones by the Russian command in the Donbas. In <a href=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/en\/reconnaissance-commander-2nd-army-corps-focus-uca-part-2-uav-forpost\/\">the second part<\/a><\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0we talked about the use of the Forpost drones. Based on one of the reports, <a href=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/en\/crash-site-of-russian-takhion-drone-141169-found\/\">the third part<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0disclosed the place where the Takhion drone (tail number 141169) of the 138<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">th<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of Russian Armed forces crashed. <a href=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/33253-dokladnaya-zapiska-obron-odessa\/\">The forth part<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0was dedicated to the analysis of the memorandum on the commander of the illegal armed group called Special Operations Brigade \u201cOdessa\u201d. In the fifth part we will disclose information about the Russian portable ground reconnaissance station PSNR-8 Kredo-M1 (1L120). In particular, we are going to tell who, when and in what quantities was supplying the so called 2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">nd<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> CPM with this equipment. We should note that these stations are a standard issue in the Russian army, have never been supplied to Ukraine and are not available in Russian Army Surplus stores. Although the Russian president claimed otherwise...<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Here is also some information about the station and its technical characteristics:<\/span>\r\n\r\n<i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Placed in service in 2002. Developed in 1995-2001. Developer: NII \u201cStrela\u201d. Producer: NII \u201cStrela\u201d. This station automatically detects and locates the coordinates of moving ground, air and surface targets (single soldiers, units, armored objects, hovering and low-flying helicopters, motor boats and ships of various classes) and adjusts the fire of their artillery.<\/span><\/i>\r\n\r\n<i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Crew: 2-3.<\/span><\/i>\r\n\r\n<i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Operating frequency range: 2 cm (J).<\/span><\/i>\r\n\r\n<i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Scan zone:<\/span><\/i>\r\n\r\n<i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">- \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/i> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">range \u2013 from 200 m to 32 km;<\/span><\/i>\r\n\r\n<i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">- \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/i> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">azimuth \u2013 from 12\u00b0 to 180\u00b0 with an adjustment discrete of 12\u00b0;<\/span><\/i>\r\n\r\n<i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">- \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/i> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">elevation - +\/-18 degrees.<\/span><\/i>\r\n\r\n<i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Detection range for moving targets:<\/span><\/i>\r\n\r\n<i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">- \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/i> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">person \u2013 7-8 km;<\/span><\/i>\r\n\r\n<i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">- \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/i> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">tank \u2013 up to 16 km;<\/span><\/i>\r\n\r\n<i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">- \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/i> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">truck \u2013 up to 32 km;<\/span><\/i>\r\n\r\n<i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">- \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/i> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">155 mm shell explosion \u2013 up to 5 km.<\/span><\/i>\r\n\r\n<i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Power consumption: 110W.<\/span><\/i>\r\n\r\n<i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Median errors in determining the coordinates:<\/span><\/i>\r\n\r\n<i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">- \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/i> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">for range: 25 m;<\/span><\/i>\r\n\r\n<i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">- \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/i> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">for direction: \u00a000\u201305 m (0.3\u00b0).<\/span><\/i>\r\n\r\n<i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Continuous operation time: 24 hrs<\/span><\/i>\r\n\r\n<i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Weight: 51 kilogram<\/span><\/i>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">On March 21, 2015, reconnaissance commander of the 2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">nd<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> CPM (military unit L-77077) Colonel Sergeev (a regular Russian serviceman using a pseudonym which is a usual practice for<a href=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/en\/russian-lieutenant-colonel-exposes-kremlins-tactics-of-hybrid-war-against-ukraine\/\"> Russian officers sent on a mission<\/a> to illegal armed groups of the DPR\/LPR ) wrote a report addressed to the reconnaissance commander of the 12<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">th<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Reserve Command of the Russian Armed forces (Novocherkassk, Rostov oblast). The report stated that as of March 15, 2015, the Separate Battalion of the Corp (military unit L-55055) and the brigade\u2019s reconnaissance units have no PSNR-8 complexes. Sergeev asked the Russian command to supply those military units with 4 complexes: two for the Separate Reconnaissance Battalion and one for each reconnaissance companies from the 2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">nd<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and 4<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">th<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Brigades of the 2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">nd<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> CPM. At the same time, the report says that all available PSNR-8 were used in artillery units of Russian occupational forces in Luhansk Oblast.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<img src=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/I42084_7253583449.jpg\" \/>\r\n\r\nIt is interesting that Sergeev\u2019s computer also contained photos (<a style=\"font-weight: 400\" href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/open?id=0B3Sv26TqMjwnanFfVUtfQkRZb2c\">link to the originals<\/a>)<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0that show the process of deploying of the PSNR-8 complex to the operating state. <\/span><b>Based on EXIF we conclude that pictures were taken on March 18, 2015 between 16:50 and 17:00 using a cell phone Samsung Galaxy Core (GT-I8262).<\/b>\r\n\r\n<img src=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Selection_150.png\" \/>\r\n\r\n<img src=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Selection_151.png\" \/>\r\n\r\n<img src=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Selection_152.png\" \/>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Note the condition of the complex. Apparently, it had been in use for a short period of time, and based on the date these pictures were taken, we conclude that we see one of the complexes that were supplied to the artillery units of the 2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">nd<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> CPM. Using OSINT, InformNapalm volunteers have previously identified the PSNR-8 complexes. However, in those instances [<a href=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/en\/russian-psnr-8m-portable-ground-reconnaissance-station-in-the-arsenal-of-separatists-of-the-dpr\/\">1<\/a>] , [<a href=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/en\/russian-kredo-m1-radar-system-olenivka\/\">2<\/a>] \u00a0[<a href=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/en\/russian-psnr-8-stations-used-by-militants-in-the-donbas\/\">3<\/a>]<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0the complexes belonged to the units of the 1<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">st<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Army Corps (Russian occupation forces in Donetsk Oblast).<\/span>\r\n\r\n<b>Based on the foregoing, the following conclusions can be drawn: In March 2015 all artillery units of the 2<\/b><b>nd<\/b><b> CPM possessed Russian complexes PSNR-8. The reconnaissance commander of the 2<\/b><b>nd<\/b><b> CPM asked the reconnaissance commander of 12<\/b><b>th<\/b><b> Reserve Command of Russian Armed Forces (Novocherkassk, Rostov oblast) to supply his reconnaissance units with special military equipment.
