On May 7, 2018, in Moscow there was yet another inauguration of Russian President Vladimir Putin.\u00a0As usual during the holidays, the Russian media showed this ceremony from all sides.\u00a0The common good-natured mood was not overshadowed by anything.\u00a0For the fourth time in his career as president, Putin promised the inhabitants of the largest country in the world to become the fifth largest economy in the world – they clapped to everything, maybe this time not so vigorously.<\/p>\n
In the late evening, at 11:22 pm Moscow time, TASS laconically\u00a0reported<\/a>\u00a0that a military helicopter Ka-52 crashed in Syria.\u00a0The news was immediately picked up by\u00a0RBC<\/a>\u00a0(at 11:29 pm).<\/p>\n The first message sounded rather dry:\u00a0“In carrying out a planned flight over the eastern regions of the Syrian Arab Republic, a Russian Ka-52 helicopter crashed.<\/em>\u00a0Both pilots were killed.”<\/em><\/p>\n The next morning on May 8, Kommersant assumed<\/a>\u00a0that the helicopter was shot down during a night patrol.<\/p>\n At first, it was not entirely clear when exactly the helicopter was hit. Since the first news came in the evening, after Putin\u2019s inauguration, apparently, the helicopter was shot down somewhere in the evening of May 7th<\/sup>.
