On December 17, the US Embassy in Ukraine, on its official <\/span>Twitter<\/span><\/a>\u00a0page,\u00a0responded to numerous media reports about the decision of the Kirov District Court in Rostov-on-Don in Russia. According to the court ruling in one of the cases, the guilty party supplied food to Russian military personnel stationed in the territory of the DPR (Donetsk People\u2019s Republic) and the LPR (Luhansk People\u2019s Republic) who fought against Ukraine in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.<\/span><\/p>\n

“A\u00a0<\/span>Russian court confirms what we all know \u2013 Russia\u2019s forces are stationed in Ukraine.\u00a0Russia is the aggressor, not a mediator<\/span><\/i>,”\u00a0the US Embassy post said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Interestingly, on December 16, in response to inquiries from journalists, Russian President’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov also\u00a0<\/span>commented<\/span><\/a>\u00a0on this decision in the Kremlin’s typical manner of denying aggression against Ukraine: “<\/span>Well, it’s probably a mistake of those who wrote this text [<\/span><\/i>the court ruling]<\/span>.\u00a0Because it is impossible.\u00a0There has been no armed forces of the Russian Federation on the territory of the self-proclaimed republics of Donbas.\u00a0The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are on the territory of the Russian Federation<\/span><\/i>.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Shortly after the official reaction from the Kremlin, the ruling was removed from the website of the Kirov District Court in Rostov-on-Don but it was saved in\u00a0<\/span>archived pages<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n
