On March 14, 2015 hundreds of citizens came to the city center for the action “Protect Ukrainian Mariupol”. They are asking President Poroshenko not to withdraw military vehicles from the city that is on the edge of the front line now. There is no real truce near Mariupol, and they are ready to protect the city by themselves.<\/p>\n

A volunteer from Mariupol Masha Ukrainskaya<\/em> had written on her Facebook page<\/a>: “We\u2019ve done that! And have shown to the whole world once again that Mariupol is Ukraine! We formed a human chain around the drama theater with over a 1000 citizens of the place who came out to participate. Everyone arrived with festive mood and did not want to leave. Many people approached me, requesting to arrange more city events of different kinds and though someone might say that people got tired of meetings and will stop coming out, I made sure that our people want to come, even just to communicate with one another. Today\u2019s mood was really festive, especially when we joined in a human chain along the street and the passing by cars signaled us their greetings, that was really a super feeling! Kids recited poems and it was clear to all that none forced people to go out, flags were wrested and it was clear for me that the city is getting different!!! There was a lot of youth which I personally enjoyed, but above all was the support from Ukrainian soldiers, who called from the front line thanking for our way of defending Mariupol!”<\/p>\n
