Not so long ago we conducted an OSINT investigation which resulted in identification of the Russian tanks and servicemen of the 6th armored brigade (military unit No. 54096, Western\u00a0Military District, Nizhny Novgorod, Russia) which went through the ‘Ukrainian assignment’ (check out “\u2018Tank Biathlon 2014\u2019 of the Russia\u2019s 6th Tank Brigade in Donbas”<\/a>).<\/p>\n

The new story is based on the video clip by a journalist of All Ukrainian\u00a0Information-Legal newspaper\u00a0‘Road Control’ – ‘Russian soldiers who have never been to Donbas’ (in Russian<\/a>). This journalist was an eyewitness of\u00a0capturing the Russian T-72B3 tank by the Ukrainian army and moving it\u00a0from the battlefield to the village of Mnohopillia (the original video is available only for registered users, so the copy is uploaded to our channel<\/a>).<\/p>\n

As the result of this OSINT investigation we disclosed and identified another Russian ‘tank biathlon’ participant – Aleksei Berezin, whose documents were found in an\u00a0abandoned tank near Ilovaisk.<\/p>\n

It did not take long to find Aleksei Berezin’s VK profile<\/a>\u00a0(archive<\/a>),\u00a0since he appeared to be a friend of the previously disclosed contract serviceman\u00a0Vadim Romanukh<\/a>\u00a0who served in the\u00a0same\u00a0military unit No. 54096 and whose photo album<\/a> lacked several pictures from his\u00a0‘Ukrainian trip’ after our publication in August. The contact list<\/a> remained untouched and that allowed us to identify Berezin (‘good’\u00a0job, FSB ‘erasers’, thank you!).<\/p>\n

\"Berezin<\/a><\/p>\n

Aleksei Berezin’s profile is nothing special, besides the fact that the boy seeks glory. His photo album<\/a>\u00a0contains a set of\u00a0recognizable group photos of the 6th brigade tank crewmen during their assignment to Ukraine in 2014. The same photos can be seen in the profiles of his brothers-in-arms which we have seen before. One of this pictures was uploaded on August 23, 2014, and was cynically\u00a0commented: “Hi to ukrops))”.<\/p>\n

Let’s come back to\u00a0our video analysis. As it is known, the Ukrainian forces captured a modernized Russian T-72B3 tank in a fight near Ilovaisk on August 26, 2014. It was reported in detail in the ‘Censor.net’ article from August 27, 2015 –\u00a0COLONEL KOVALSKYI: \u201cWE CAPTURED RUSSIAN \u0422-72B3 UNEXPECTEDLY FOR OURSELVES \u2013 FOR MOST OF US IT WAS THE FIRST ENGAGEMENT\u201d<\/a>. In particular, the captured tank was the\u00a0newest T-72B3 modification, produced in 2013 and fitted with the French and Belorussian equipment. Colonel Mikhail Kovalsky notes the following: “At around noon Aug. 26 we saw an enemy’s convoy advancing us directly. It was headed by a tank followed by six airborne combat vehicles. I gave an order to the IFV; it showed up and opened fire at a distance of approx. 400 meters. The tank stopped, and its turret caught fire. The airborne combat vehicles made a landing and, having seen that the tank stopped, turned around and started to retreat. Infantry also started to retreat along the forest. One of the airborne combat vehicles was hit by a round, but managed to retreat. No other losses were inflicted to the enemy… The tank was to be blown up, but I examined it and saw it was totally operable, its damages being cosmetic. Obviously, a tank driver was wounded for there were blood stains on the turret. All those wounded were taken away by the enemy. When mopping up, we found an abandoned operable sniper rifle made in Russia. The tank was Russian as well – we found all documents inside…\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

This information and the provided photo and video materials are enough to link everything together. As mentioned before, the abandoned driving document\u00a0of the private A. Berezin proves his belonging to the 3rd tank\u00a0company of the 1st tank battalion (the 6th armored brigade). A photo from Romanukh’s album shows us the mark\u00a0of the 3rd tank company which is placed on the ammunition box of the tank’s machine gun; and the familiar white identification sign is placed over the painted out hull number.<\/p>\n

This journalist was an eyewitness of\u00a0capturing the Russian T-72B3 tank by the Ukrainian army and moving it\u00a0from the battlefield to the village of Mnohopillia (the original video is available only for registered users, so the copy is uploaded to <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/7oe9kG2VFKk\">our channel<\/a>).\r\n\r\nAs the result of this OSINT investigation we disclosed and identified another Russian 'tank biathlon' participant - Aleksei Berezin, whose documents were found in an\u00a0abandoned tank near Ilovaisk.\r\n\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/11780536_1493623907616748_933943581_n.jpg\"><img class=\"alignnone wp-image-12295 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/11780536_1493623907616748_933943581_n.jpg\" alt=\"11780536_1493623907616748_933943581_n\" width=\"854\" height=\"484\" \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/11667892_1493623897616749_517392407_n.jpg\"><img class=\"alignnone wp-image-12296 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/11667892_1493623897616749_517392407_n.jpg\" alt=\"11667892_1493623897616749_517392407_n\" width=\"861\" height=\"484\" \/><\/a>\r\n\r\nIt did not take long to find Aleksei Berezin's <a href=\"https:\/\/vk.com\/id58265801\" target=\"_blank\">VK profile<\/a>\u00a0(<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.is\/2BBjb\" target=\"_blank\">archive<\/a>),\u00a0since he appeared to be a friend of the previously disclosed contract serviceman\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.is\/qbifR\" target=\"_blank\">Vadim Romanukh<\/a>\u00a0who served in the\u00a0same\u00a0military unit No. 54096 and whose <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.is\/Gy9mB\">photo album<\/a> lacked several pictures from his\u00a0'Ukrainian trip' after our publication in August. <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.is\/Yioyo\">The contact list<\/a> remained untouched and that allowed us to identify Berezin ('good'\u00a0job, FSB 'erasers', thank you!).\r\n\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Berezin-prof1.jpg\"><img class=\"alignnone wp-image-12299 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Berezin-prof1.jpg\" alt=\"Berezin prof\" width=\"867\" height=\"771\" \/><\/a>\r\n\r\nAleksei Berezin's profile is nothing special, besides the fact that the boy seeks glory. His <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.is\/Jk9a9\">photo album<\/a>\u00a0contains a set of\u00a0recognizable group photos of the 6th brigade tank crewmen during their assignment to Ukraine in 2014. The same photos can be seen in the profiles of his brothers-in-arms which we have seen before. One of this pictures was uploaded on August 23, 2014, and was cynically\u00a0commented: \"Hi to ukrops))\".\r\n\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/11920577_1493623900950082_2114585665_n.jpg\"><img class=\"alignnone wp-image-12293 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/11920577_1493623900950082_2114585665_n-230x130.jpg\" alt=\"11920577_1493623900950082_2114585665_n\" width=\"230\" height=\"130\" \/><\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/11922001_1493623914283414_591315111_n.jpg\"><img class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-12302\" src=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/11922001_1493623914283414_591315111_n-230x130.jpg\" alt=\"11922001_1493623914283414_591315111_n\" width=\"230\" height=\"130\" \/><\/a>\r\n\r\nLet's come back to\u00a0our video analysis. As it is known, the Ukrainian forces captured a modernized Russian T-72B3 tank in a fight near Ilovaisk on August 26, 2014. It was reported in detail in the 'Censor.net' article from August 27, 2015 -\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.censor.net.ua\/resonance\/349305\/colonel_kovalskyi_we_captured_russian_t72b3_unexpectedly_for_ourselves_for_most_of_us_it_was_the_first\">COLONEL KOVALSKYI: \u201cWE CAPTURED RUSSIAN \u0422-72B3 UNEXPECTEDLY FOR OURSELVES \u2013 FOR MOST OF US IT WAS THE FIRST ENGAGEMENT\u201d<\/a>. In particular, the captured tank was the\u00a0newest T-72B3 modification, produced in 2013 and fitted with the French and Belorussian equipment. Colonel Mikhail Kovalsky notes the following: <em>\"<span style=\"line-height: 1.5\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">At around noon Aug. 26 we saw an enemy's convoy advancing us directly. It was headed by a tank followed by six airborne combat vehicles. I gave an order to the IFV; it showed up and opened fire at a distance of approx. 400 meters. The tank stopped, and its turret caught fire. The airborne combat vehicles made a landing and, having seen that the tank stopped, turned around and started to retreat. Infantry also started to retreat along the forest. One of the airborne combat vehicles was hit by a round, but managed to retreat. No other losses were inflicted to the enemy... The tank was to be blown up, but I examined it and saw it was totally operable, its damages being cosmetic. Obviously, a tank driver was wounded for there were blood stains on the turret. All those wounded were taken away by the enemy. When mopping up, we found an abandoned operable sniper rifle made in Russia. The tank was Russian as well - we found all documents inside...\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/em>\r\n\r\nThis information and the provided photo and video materials are enough to link everything together. As mentioned before, the abandoned driving document\u00a0of the private A. Berezin proves his belonging to the 3rd tank\u00a0company of the 1st tank battalion (the 6th armored brigade).
