The Russian court conducts the final hearing now. Nadiya Savchenko can become the victim of the trumped-up accusation with verdict \u2013 23 years in prison. Mass media already spread\u00a0the hasty conclusions about the admission of Nadiya\u2019s guilt by the court.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Today, on March 21, the court started the final hearing in the case of Nadiya Savchenko, who was kidnapped by the Russian side and illegally held on its territory.<\/p>\n

The ‘Russian \u041a\u0430ngaroo Court’ has already started reading the positions\u00a0of prosecution in which Nadiya was accused of the crimes, which she did not commit, and, as a result, she may be imprisoned for 23 years. Nadiya Savchenko and her defense rejected all accusations and have repeatedly presented\u00a0irrefutable evidence of innocence of the hostage-defendant, but the Russian court, following the political order, still has not considered them.<\/p>\n

On March 21, at the first half of the day, the mass media began to spread\u00a0the news that allegedly the court had\u00a0already found\u00a0the Ukrainian pilot\u00a0Nadiya Savchenko\u00a0guilty, but Nikolay Polozov, Nadiya’s lawyer, said that this information did\u00a0not correspond to reality. Polozov said that the court was\u00a0reading out the position of the prosecution\u00a0which was in fact\u00a0the copied indictment, but the position of the legal defense was also to be heard.<\/p>\n

\"\u0421\u0443\u0434Prior to that, on March 13, the InformNapalm international volunteer community examined the EU’s preliminary sanctions list, which included\u00a0the judges involved in the political process against Savchenko. The personal data on\u00a0the prosecutors and judges was collected,<\/strong> and presented in the investigation \u2018#FreeSavchenko: Faces of the Russian \u041a\u0430ngaroo Court\u2019<\/em><\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Let us remind you that Nadiya Savchenko is illegally held in the Russian Federation since mid-summer of 2014.<\/p>\n

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), on January 27, 2015, acknowledged the authority of Savchenko as its member\u00a0from Ukraine. From that moment on, according to the statutory documents of the Council of Europe, Savchenko had\u00a0the international immunity. The same day, the PACE adopted a resolution appealing to\u00a0the Russian Federation, as a member of the Council of Europe, to liberate Nadiya Savchenko \u2018within 24 hours or to pass her to a third party\u2019. Aleksei Pushkov, the head of the Russian delegation, used the illegal detention of Savchenko as a political card in the intrigues, saying that the PACE requirements can be meaningful only if \u2018the Russian delegation remains a part of\u00a0the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe\u2019.<\/p>\n

John Kirby, the official representative of the United States Department of State, on March 3, 2016, said that the position of the State Department remained unchanged: Nadiya Savchenko has to be freed.<\/p>\n

Also it was reported in the end of February that the United States might impose new sanctions against the Russian officials and politicians<\/a> (RU) involved in the case of the Ukrainian pilot Nadiya Savchenko, if the Russian court issues a guilty verdict to her.<\/p>\n
