Israeli Bird Eye 400 Downed in Donbas by Ukrainian Forces"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On\u00a0July 22, 2015 Ukrainian border guards have shot down a Russian \u201cZastava\u201d drone. It was collecting information about Ukrainian Army positions 1.5 km deep inside Ukrainian territory in Luhansk Oblast about 25 km from the contact line with the so-called Luhansk People\u2019s Republic. This drone is actually the Bird Eye 400 UAV manufactured in Russia under a contract that was signed in 2012 with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iai.co.il\/2013\/22031-en\/homepage.aspx\">Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI)<\/a>. This drone costs 2 million USD.<\/p>\n<p>Ukrainian Border Guard Service posted photos of the Russian drone on its website, <a href=\"http:\/\/dpsu.gov.ua\/en\/activity\/\">dpsu.gov.ua<\/a>, and it also posted a video on its YouTube channel.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"978\" height=\"550\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/4gbvR0EXMgw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The drone was spotted between Harasymivka village (Ukraine) and Ushakovka village (Russian Federation)<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/DroneMapRU-640x360.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Russian &#8220;Zastava&#8221; drone shot down 25 km from contact line<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>On May 21, 2015, Russia lost another UAV deep inside Ukrainian territory. It is also manufactured under a contract with the Israeli company. One Bird Eye 400 system is packaged into two carries and can be assembled within several minutes. It features low acoustic signature and 80 minutes of flight endurance.<br \/>\nBird Eye 400 can be operated by one or two soldiers in support of small military fighting units. The operator establishes the flight path before the launch of the UAV system on a computer. Once launched, the Bird Eye 400 operates autonomously using a digital map and pre-programmed flight coordinates control. This kind of UAV are electrically powered by a battery.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Israeli drones like \u201cZastava\u201d and \u201cForpost\u201d are manufactured by the Russian company JSC \u201cUral Works of Civil Aviation\u201d <a href=\"http:\/\/uwca.ru\/\">uwca.ru<\/a>. In the photo posted by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, you can clearly see the logo and the name of the Russian company and the serial number of the drone, 355. Those parts are not manufactured in Russia and are supplied by Israeli companies. See bid details at <a href=\"http:\/\/zakupki.gov.ru\">http:\/\/zakupki.gov.ru<\/a><\/p>\n<p>According to the information posted in the bid specifications, Russia has 10 \u201cForpost\u201d drones and 27 \u201cZastava\u201d drones (see the report in Russian here). This is the second confirmed \u201cZastava\u201d drone lost by Russia over Ukrainian territory. Almost exactly a year ago on July 24, 2014, Ukrainian Border Guard Service reported that they found a Russian \u201cZastava\u201d UAV in Kharkov Oblast 2 km from the border. There is also the original serial number on some parts and ON\/OFF switches in English. So it is a big question how many Russian parts are in those drones. It was collecting information about Ukrainian Army positions 1.5 km deep inside Ukrainian territory in Luhansk Oblast about 25 km from the contact line with the so-called Luhansk People\u2019s Republic. This drone is actually the Bird Eye 400 UAV manufactured in Russia under a contract that was signed in 2012 with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iai.co.il\/2013\/22031-en\/homepage.aspx\">Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI)<\/a>. It is also manufactured under a contract with the Israeli company. It features low acoustic signature and 80 minutes of flight endurance.\r\nBird Eye 400 can be operated by one or two soldiers in support of small military fighting units. The operator establishes the flight path before the launch of the UAV system on a computer. Once launched, the Bird Eye 400 operates autonomously using a digital map and pre-programmed flight coordinates control. This kind of UAV are electrically powered by a battery.<\/blockquote>\r\nThe Israeli drones like \u201cZastava\u201d and \u201cForpost\u201d are manufactured by the Russian company JSC \u201cUral Works of Civil Aviation\u201d <a href=\"http:\/\/uwca.ru\/\">uwca.ru<\/a>. In the photo posted by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, you can clearly see the logo and the name of the Russian company and the serial number of the drone, 355. Those parts are not manufactured in Russia and are supplied by Israeli companies. See bid details at <a href=\"http:\/\/zakupki.gov.ru\">http:\/\/zakupki.gov.ru<\/a>\r\n\r\nAccording to the information posted in the bid specifications, Russia has 10 \u201cForpost\u201d drones and 27 \u201cZastava\u201d drones (see the report in Russian here). This is the second confirmed \u201cZastava\u201d drone lost by Russia over Ukrainian territory. Almost exactly a year ago on July 24, 2014, Ukrainian Border Guard Service reported that they found a Russian \u201cZastava\u201d UAV in Kharkov Oblast 2 km from the border. There is also the original serial number on some parts and ON\/OFF switches in English. So it is a big question how many Russian parts are in those drones.
