I \u00f6ver tv\u00e5 m\u00e5nader i rad har InformNapalms frivilliga<\/a><\/span> k\u00e4mpat mot en v\u00e5g av Facebookblockeringar. F\u00f6r n\u00e4rvarande \u00e4r fyra av v\u00e5ra aktiva medlemmar blockerade i 30 dagar.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00c4ven om dessa Facebookblockeringar \u00e4r resultatet av en ny blockeringspolicy mot “f\u00f6rbjudna ord” har vi uppt\u00e4ckt att anv\u00e4ndaren inte kan hantera problemet f\u00f6r att undvika ytterligare blockeringar. Vanliga Facebook-s\u00f6kalternativ till\u00e5ter n\u00e4mligen inte anv\u00e4ndaren att hitta gamla kommentarer som gjorts utanf\u00f6r tidslinjen. S\u00e5ledes kommer resultatet att bli blockering efter blockering.<\/span><\/p>\n

Facebookblockeringar godtyckligt<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Nyligen skrev en av v\u00e5ra volont\u00e4rer ett l\u00e5ngt meddelande till Facebooks supportavdelning som beskriver detta i detalj. Vi vet att InformNapalm har blivit ett m\u00e5l<\/a><\/strong> f\u00f6r ryska botar. Ryska statssponsrade grupper f\u00f6rs\u00f6ker tysta v\u00e5rt informationskollektiv och minimera allm\u00e4nhetens tillg\u00e5ng till information<\/a><\/strong> om ryska krigsf\u00f6rbrytelser.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nu \u00e4r det dags f\u00f6r oss att be om l\u00e4sarnas st\u00f6d. V\u00e4nligen sprid ordet, hj\u00e4lp oss att n\u00e5 Facebook-administrationen och f\u00e5 v\u00e5r r\u00f6st h\u00f6rd! Vi kan inte l\u00e4ngre till\u00e5ta den ryska regimen tysta sanningen och fylla Facebook med sin propaganda.<\/span><\/p>\n

Today, I got a message from Facebook stating that one of my comments violated Community Standards. I am fully aware that Facebook just recently has toughened up the rules and introduced sanctions for some of the words that previously were considered to be OK. Certainly, this will be no news to you that Ukraine has been fighting off the Russian aggression for the last 4 years, and no wonder that many Ukrainians, including myself, are not very fond of the Russians who are responsible for killing 11,000 people and driving almost 2 million Ukrainians out of their homes.<\/span><\/p>\n

I do not want to get into the long discussion about what made you consider the words<\/span>\u00a0like \u201c\u0440\u0443\u0441\u043d\u044f\u201d offensive, especially when taken out of the context; to me this looks like a questionable step, but Facebook is a private company and you can do whatever you think is good for you. Rather than judging your decision, I would like to show you the issues that I have to face as a user while trying to get adjusted to your new rules.<\/span><\/p>\n

First of all, it is the retroactive effect of these rules, which means that your new Blocking P<\/strong><\/span>olicies affect my old posts and comments. What this means to me that now I have to look through all of my posts and comments (that\u2019s 8+ years of Facebook history). Here you may argu<\/strong><\/span>e that I can use Facebook graph search or activit<\/strong><\/span>y log search in<\/strong><\/span> order to find the posts and comments which used the words that Facebook deems improper now.<\/span><\/p>\n

Yet, here comes the second issue, which is even more significant than the first one, because this search does not work. After the first time when you blocked my account for 1 day on Christmas I already used all search options provided to me by Facebook in order to find my posts that violated Community Standards. I found 2 or 3 and edited them \u2013 no problem.<\/span><\/p>\n

H<\/strong><\/span>owever, on April 25 I got another ban from you<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 for 3 days \u2013 stating that one of my<\/strong><\/span> posts violated community standards again. In fact, it was not the post \u2013 it was one of the comments that I made under someone else\u2019s post. The comment was made a lo<\/span><\/strong>ng time ago: There was not specific date indicated, but my best guess is that I posted it somewhere in 2015. This comment had not been shown in my search results, even though I used the correct keyword.<\/span><\/p>\n

After I was released from the ban, I checked the search options once again. Both graph search and activity log search showed that my posts were clean, and yet today I got another message with the comment that again was made back in 2014-2015 under someone else\u2019s post. I cannot possibly find these comments because Facebook has not provided me with the tools to find them.<\/span><\/p>\n

So how do you expect me to clean them and try to keep up with your new rules? It is a vicious circle and I see no way for me to break it.<\/span><\/p>\n

To complicate the things even further I will ask you another question: how is it even possible for an ordinary person to see and report comments which are that old? Unfortunately, I know the answer. I am sure that I was chosen as one of the targets for the attack of Russian bot farms. Apparently, Russian bot farms have developed software that automatically searches specific keywords in all content posted by popular Ukrainian journalists and bloggers and reports them Facebook admins.<\/span><\/p>\n

I happen to be among the targets because for several years, I have been working with InformNapalm informnapalm.org\/en\/<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0fb.com\/informnapalm24\/<\/a><\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n

InformNapalm is a well-known<\/a> international volunteer community that exposes Russian propaganda and publishes journalist investigations with regard to the Russian aggression in Ukraine, Georgia and Syria. So there are plenty of reasons for Russian bots to attack profiles of all people who are affiliated<\/a> with InformNapalm.<\/span><\/p>\n

For the last couple of months our volunteers have been jumping from one Facebook ban to another. At the moment 4 members of our community are banned for the same reasons which I explained to you above. They were banned for old comments they could not find using standard Facebook search tools.<\/span><\/p>\n

In light of this I am asking you to take another look into the situation and to stop using retroactive bans for the old content that cannot be traced with the standard Facebook search tools. At the moment, Russian bots farms are misusing the deficiencies in Facebook blocking algorithm to silence the voices they do not like. Please, investigate the case and do your best to improve the situation, because current Facebook policies are only beneficial to the Russian authoritarian regime and Russian propaganda.<\/span><\/p>\n

Vi kan inte l\u00e4ngre till\u00e5ta den ryska regimen tysta sanningen och fylla Facebook med sin propaganda.<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Den fullst\u00e4ndiga texten p\u00e5 engelska<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Today, I got a message from Facebook stating that one of my comments violated Community Standards. I am fully aware that Facebook just recently has toughened up the rules and introduced sanctions for some of the words that previously were considered to be OK. Certainly, this will be no news to you that Ukraine has been fighting off the Russian aggression for the last 4 years, and no wonder that many Ukrainians, including myself, are not very fond of the Russians who are responsible for killing 11,000 people and driving almost 2 million Ukrainians out of their homes.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">I do not want to get into the long discussion about what made you consider the word<span lang=\"en-US\">s<\/span>\u00a0like \u201c\u0440\u0443\u0441\u043d\u044f\u201d offensive, especially when taken out of the context; to me this looks like a questionable step, but Facebook is a private company and you can do whatever you think is good for you. Rather than judging your decision, I would like to show you the issues that I have to face as a user while trying to get adjusted to your new rules.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">First of all, it is the retroactive effect of these rules, which means that your new Blocking <span style=\"color: #333333\"><strong>P<\/strong><\/span>olicies affect my old posts and comments. What this means to me that now I have to look through all of my posts and comments (that\u2019s 8+ years of Facebook history). Here you may arg<span style=\"color: #333333\"><strong>u<\/strong><\/span>e that I can use Facebook graph search or activi<span style=\"color: #333333\"><strong>t<\/strong><\/span>y log search <span style=\"color: #333333\"><strong>in<\/strong><\/span> order to find the posts and comments which used the words that Facebook deems improper now.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Yet, here comes the second issue, which is even more significant than the first one, because this search does not work. After the first time when you blocked my account for 1 day on Christmas I already used all search options provided to me by Facebook in order to find my posts that violated Community Standards. I found 2 or 3 and edited them \u2013 no problem.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"color: #333333\"><strong>H<\/strong><\/span>owever, on April 25 I got another ban from yo<span style=\"color: #333333\"><strong>u<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 for 3 days \u2013 stating that one of m<span style=\"color: #333333\"><strong>y<\/strong><\/span> posts violated community standards again. In fact, it was not the post \u2013 it was one of the comments that I made under someone else\u2019s post. The comment was made a <strong><span style=\"color: #333333\">lo<\/span><\/strong>ng time ago: There was not specific date indicated, but my best guess is that I posted it somewhere in 2015. This comment had not been shown in my search results, even though I used the correct keyword.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">After I was released from the ban, I checked the search options once again. Both graph search and activity log search showed that my posts were clean, and yet today I got another message with the comment that again was made back in 2014-2015 under someone else\u2019s post. I cannot possibly find these comments because Facebook has not provided me with the tools to find them.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">So how do you expect me to clean them and try to keep up with your new rules? It is a vicious circle and I see no way for me to break it.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">To complicate the things even further I will ask you another question: how is it even possible for an ordinary person to see and report comments which are that old? Unfortunately, I know the answer. I am sure that I was chosen as one of the targets for the attack of Russian bot farms. Apparently, Russian bot farms have developed software that automatically searches specific keywords in all content posted by popular Ukrainian journalists and bloggers and reports them Facebook admins.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">I happen to be among the targets because for several years, I have been working with InformNapalm <strong><a style=\"color: #000000\" href=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">informnapalm.org\/en\/<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong><a style=\"color: #000000\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/informnapalm24\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fb.com\/informnapalm24\/<\/a><\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">InformNapalm is a <a style=\"color: #000000\" href=\"http:\/\/informnapalm.rocks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">well-known<\/a> international volunteer community that exposes Russian propaganda and publishes journalist investigations with regard to the Russian aggression in Ukraine, Georgia and Syria. So there are plenty of reasons for Russian bots to attack profiles of all people who are <a style=\"color: #000000\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/donbassverige\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">affiliated<\/a> with InformNapalm.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">For the last couple of months our volunteers have been jumping from one Facebook ban to another. At the moment 4 members of our community are banned for the same reasons which I explained to you above. They were banned for old comments they could not find using standard Facebook search tools.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">In light of this I am asking you to take another look into the situation and to stop using retroactive bans for the old content that cannot be traced with the standard Facebook search tools. At the moment, Russian bots farms are misusing the deficiencies in Facebook blocking algorithm to silence the voices they do not like.
