Border Guards Detained a 24 Years Old Spy

    on 07/31/2014 | | Main News | News

Border guards of the Donetsk group detained a 24 years old citizen of the Russian Federation involved in gathering information on the location of Ukrainian military. The guards detained the man who cycled in from Veselo-Voznesenska (the Russian Federation) towards Novoazovsk (on the Azov Sea, Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine). The detainee had no identifying documents.

In the course of identification it was found that the detainee was a citizen of Rostov Oblast, the Russian Federation and was traveling to Mariupol to gather information on the availability and location of Ukrainian checkpoints.

The man confessed that two unidentified persons asked him to illegally cross the border and gather information in return for a financial reward. After completion of the assignment he had to return to Russia and report back adequate data in order to collect the reward.
