Between 12:00 to 18:00 on September 4, Ukrainian border patrols engaged Russian mercenaries near Roza, Kominternove, Bezimenne, and Shyrokyne settlements.

During the armed confrontations the border guards destroyed several vehicles and an antiaircraft vehicle, damaged one enemy infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) and inflicted casualties on enemy troops. One of the guards was seriously wounded.

The last hostile contact happened about 18:00. Border guards with small arms and grenade launchers also destroyed a checkpoint of the Russian mercenaries near Telmanove.
