On February 1, the Russian propaganda channel “Life News” produced an unexpected story about how bomb shelters in Rostov Oblast of Russia are getting ready in case of “shelling from the territory of Ukraine”.

The story was shown under a heading “Not our war”. The video is a fine preparation for viewers to think that “Ukrainian shells” will be flying on the Russians.

The report notes: “The fighting between the Donetsk militia and Ukrainian forces is going on just 3 km (about 1.9 miles) from the village of Kuibyshev (Rostov oblast). The distance is critical; the village can be reached by shells from any kind of artillery systems.”

Have you noticed the distance of 3 km?! This is a deliberate lie of the Russian channel, as the distance from the nearest location of the Ukrainian military forces in Debaltsevo to Kuibyshev is 68 km (42 miles)!

It should be noted that during the military conflict in Ukraine, journalists of the Russian TV channel “Life News” very often are in the vanguard of events and not once have been seen in the areas of provocations by separatists. This TV channel is an integral part of the information-psychological operations of Russian terrorists against Ukraine. They often carriy out preventive information pumps towards the target audience to heat up the degree of tension until the planned actions of violence and terror occur, and afterwards, the Ukrainian forces are blamed for them.

In this case, there may be speculation about firing or even air strikes by Ukrainian forces towards Russian territory to provoke further escalation of the conflict, or under the pretext of introduction of a “peacekeeping force”, to legalize the presence of Russian armed forces in the Donbas.

I believe that in 2-3 days (usually, this the time necessary to create an informational frenzy in society) we will see new rounds of action. It is important to be prepared for such a development. It is clear that the fight in Debaltsevo is a successful diversion maneuver; that is why all non combat-ready militants from local alcoholics to drug addicts have been sent there to fight in the first echelon. While Russian terrorist forces throw cannon fodder at Debaltsevo, they will also be preparing  another lodgement. Perhaps, their next target is Artemivsk, although they can feign an attack towards Kramatorsk to disorient the headquarters of ATO, and then outflank them from the North.
