In mid-April, there were many reports of trains with military equipment seen in the areas of Russia close to the border with Ukraine. Suddenly, information about the trains disappeared from the web.
What happened to the Russian cargo trains?
Perhaps, everything that needed to be shipped has been shipped. Or, maybe, the Kremlin, after all, decided to stop undeclared war with Ukraine, and as a result, stopped shipping weapons and equipment to the Ukrainian border. In the second case, we would observe the outflow of weapons and equipment from the border of Ukraine, but this is not happening either. It seems like the trains disappeared.
The InformNapalm team observes various units of the Russian armed forces at the border of Ukraine on a regular basis. These military units have their home bases in various parts of the Russian Federation far away from Ukraine. It seems unlikely that they have been transferred by air, especially with hundreds of pieces of military equipment.
So, where are the Russian trains gone?
Russian soldiers that have been travelling by train helped us to answer this question.
A comment to the photograph below says: “On the way to Rostov, the stops are only on the faraway trucks, going through towns and villages at nights only.”

Comments to the next photo say: “It’s the first day of the road trip, a long way to transfer a BTG [Battalion Tactical Group] in the direction of Rostov,” and “We are on the train to Rostov. It’s a long way…”

Here, this Battalion Tactical Group with its equipment is already near Rostov-on-Don on the well-known Russian military base. (http://conflictreport.info/2015/01/08/one-base-to-rule-them-all-five-facts-you-should-know-about-russias-main-invasion-hub/)
“Rostov to us now like Dad” wrote the Russian soldiers which means they are going to be in Rostov for a long time.

A site where the two last photos were taken is indicated as Myasnikovsky Raion of Rostov Oblast.
Notice that in the last photo, you can clearly see that the tactical signs or serial numbers on the vehicle have been concealed with fresh paint.
Therefore, the Kremlin continues to transfer weapons and equipment to Ukraine… but now it is done very carefully and under cover of night.
