The day has passed as usual lately. Militants, despite the truce, continued to attack the positions of Ukrainian military in various parts of Donetsk and Luhansk region.

Slovyansk attracted our attention because of gunfire between the militants barricaded near the secondary school #16 and one of the checkpoints of Ukrainian uniformed services. Mobile communication is Slovyansk disappeared from time to time and it was possible to reach people by phone only from the city. Militants redeployed their forces in Piskunovka village (near Kransaya Luka), possibly with the aim to attack in the direction of Yampol and Kransy Liman. There was also an incident with tanks which passed through the checkpoint of the National Guard destroyed the last night.

Along toward evening our assumption that the lull in Rubezhnoye was the lull before the storm began to check out. A checkpoint in Krasnyanka (located between Rubezhnoye and Kremennaya Mountain) was attacked. Besides, information about redeployment of terrorist forces from Seversk to Konstantinovka disseminated widely; we believe that this was misinformation.

Decrease of terrorist personnel in Slovyansk should also be noted – this could indicate readiness for active actions promised by the security forces. The militants in Rubezhnoye still continue to strengthen their defensive positions.

The militants in Gorlivka have also strengthened their defensive positions. Seizure of municipal buildings in Donetsk and Luhansk still goes on.

Alarming news about covert military mobilization came from Russia. It is not clear what Vladimir Putin has on his mind provided that he forbade the use of Russian armed forces in Ukraine.

With that said we see two possible scenarios:

1. The temporary truce granted by the President to the militants expires and the active phase of the ATO continues – this is what we would like to believe will happen.
2. Terrorists make several strikes from Lisichansk-Rubezhnoye-Seversk area to Svatovo-Starobelsk and from Slovyansk-Kramatorsk area via Adamovka and Dolina to Izyum. This is the scenario we do not want to believe in, however the events of the last night do not let us deny this possibility.
