According to the photographs found in social media, new Russian multi-functional armored mine-resistant vehicles Kamaz-63968 Typhoon were spotted in a field camp of the Russian group of invasion forces located in Neklinovsky Raion of Rostov Oblast, at the border with Ukraine. These armored vehicles have been identified as those that belong to a reconnaissance unit (probably a platoon) of the 346th separate Spetsnaz Brigade GRU, military unit #3168, permanently located in the town of Prokhladny, Kabardino-Balkar Republic, Russia. We have written about this platoon before.

The photos 1, 2, and 3 were taken in Neklinovsky Raion of Rostov Oblast and posted on social media on January 30 and 31, 2015. The photos 4 and 5 show Typhoons from online catalogs of the Russian military equipment.
The Kamaz-63968 Typhoon is a universal armored vehicle with advanced protection. The vehicle was created following the adoption of the Concept of development of military vehicles for the armed forces of the Russian Federation through 2020. Is it manufactured by KAMAZ plant, Russia. Current number of manufactured vehicles is around 50.
