The Counter-Intelligence branch of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) stopped criminal activity of a citizen of Ukraine “Z” (1983 YOB, Donetsk resident) who collected, processed and handed over information about activity of the ATO forces to the leader (call sign “Bonaqua”) of one of the subversive groups of the terrorist organization of the so-called “Donetsk People’s Republic”.
It was established that “Z” had been recruited by “Bonaqua” in April, 2014. His task was to collect information about departures of the ATO aircrafts from the military airfields in Mykolaiv and Chuhuiv, about positions of checkpoints, and about redeployment of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Donetsk region. He assisted with fire adjustment when militants shelled civilian settlements or positions of Ukrainian servicemen.
It was also established that “Z” engaged others in intelligence, and is now following up on this information.
