In the Lviv Oblast, the counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine recorded the fact of recruitment of our compatriot by representatives of the special services of the Russian Federation.
It has been established that a Lviv resident was illegally detained by militants while visiting her relatives in temporarily occupied Donetsk under the pretext of allegedly checking documents. After that, she was taken to the so-called DNB State Security Committee, where she was required to agree to confidential cooperation to the detriment of Ukraine’s state security. To do this, the militants used psychological pressure and threats.
According to the plan of her instructors, she was to collect information for representatives of the Russian secret services on the connections of family members of the Ukrainian servicemen who come to the territory of the Donetsk Oblast from the western regions of our country.
Upon arrival in the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities, the woman voluntarily informed the Security Service of Ukraine in Lviv Oblast about the fact of illegal detention and attempted recruitment.
The Security Service of Ukraine reminds the citizens that according to Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, a citizen of Ukraine is released from criminal liability if he has not taken any action to perform a criminal task of a foreign state, foreign organization or their representatives and voluntarily declared to public authorities his connection with them and the task received.
