    UKRAINE LOST SPACECRAFT CONTROL CENTER

    on 03/27/2014 | | Crimea | Main News | News

укккккAFTER CAPTURE AND ANNEXATION OF CRIMEA WE LOST NOT ONLY FLEET BUT SPACECRAFT CONTROL CENTER AS WELL (Evpatoria).

“Today the entire country is worried about the loss of 90% of Ukrainian Navy. But somehow no one sees the other, equally important, loss. In 1960, a unique by its capabilities spacecraft control center was established near Evpatoria. The radio telescope RT-70 alone counts for something — at present it is probably the only existing radio telescope in the former Soviet Union. The presence of the Center in our country made it possible to carry out international cooperation programs in space, provide launches of rocket carriers of other countries and control spacecrafts in deep space as a part of the international programs. For example, RT-70 participated in the flight to Mars program. Yesterday I got to know that 210 of 250 of the officers of the Center sided with Russia. My heart is heavy because I knew most of these “officers” personally. I could never ever even think that these people would knife their own country. When I think about that I feel tears gathering in my eyes” — sadly says one of Ukrainian officers.
