    on 08/25/2014 | | Main News | News

On August 23 a group of Special Forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs led by Colonel Vyacheslav Abroskyn, acting on information from the Kostyatynivka Police Department, arrested Girkin’s personal bodyguard in Kostyantynivka. After fierce armed resistance the Special Forces detained the terrorist Oleksiy Volodymyrovych Sh. (1980 YOB).

It is important to note that information on the location of the terrorist was reported to authorities in Kyiv by local pro-Ukrainian employees of the Kostyantynivka police department, and that nobody warned the terrorist that his hiding place had been given to the national authorities.

In the morning of August 23 a seizure party of the soldiers of “Sokil” (“Falcon”) Special Forces went to the place of detention, a tower block in Kostyantynivka. The terrorist upon realizing that the group came after him opened gunfire through the door. The police returned fire and wounded the terrorist in the shoulder, kicked down the door and detained the wounded terrorist. The detainee was rendered first aid without which he would have bled. It is noteworthy that the terrorist was in the state of extreme alcoholic intoxication.
