We discovered a command post vehicle R-142N on the training camp of the Russian-terrorist battalion ‘Sparta’.

The combined radio station R-142N is designed to ensure troop control and communication organization on the battalion-regiment-division level. It can operate on move (up to 25 mph) and at a camp site, both on its own and as a part of a communications node. The equipment of R-142N provides simplex radio-telephony communication in open and ciphered modes.

Being on a median terrain and having selected the appropriate frequency (free from the radio interference and in compliance with the used antennas) the radio station ensures the data transmitting and receiving on various distances – the bigger (higher) antenna the larger the covered area. More technical details can be found here (in Russian).

The mentioned training camp is placed in the territory of an abandoned military unit in the outskirts of Donetsk (Ukraine).
