Recently our author Irakli Komaxidze published a note in Russian titled Abkhazia will help  DNR to restore Donetsk airport and almost as a response to that Russian Air Force and Air Defense radio-engineering units arrived to Ukraine. According to the information from social networks (personal information, photos, contacts and geotags) of Mr. Yegorov, one of the Russian armed forces servicemen from the 338th Radio-Engineering Regiment, as of April 4th 2015 his military unit was located in Kuibyshev Rayon of Rostov Oblast less than 20 kilometers from Ukraine’s border in a small campground. As of April 7th, 2015 Mr. Egorov, was already in Ukraine near Makiivka.

The 338th Radio-Engineering Regiment (unit No. 40491) is a part of the 4th Air Force Command and Air Defense Armed Forces of Russian Federation. Some of the military units (radio-engineering battalions) of the brigade are spread out in various garrisons from Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Krasnodar Krai, Russia) to Novocherkassk (Rostov Oblast). This military unit is armed with ‘Kasta’ (Flat Face E) radar and ‘Nebo SVU’ (mobile active electronically scanned array 3-dimensional surveillance radar). The objectives of the regiment are the control of the airspace and airfield support.

Personal information of Mr. Maxim Egorov, employee of 338th Air Force Regiment:

Social network account: https://vk.com/id147352121

Social network status on 04.04.2015: “I am leaving and will be back soon, don’t relax”

Birthday: 11 July, 1994. From: Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Krasnodar Krai, Russia)

Cell phone number: 89528681856

Mr. Egorov served in 2013—2014 as a conscript in radio-engineering unit located in Primorsko-Akhtarsk. Starting from the spring of 2014 he is on a contract service in 338th Radio-Engineering Regiment.

Post scriptum: perhaps this information is not convincing for somebody. They can say that ‘the geotag is not a proof’ or ‘I do not see the connection’. For those people we advise to think deeper. Another proof of this information will be deleting or editing of Mr. Egorov VK profile.

MR. Egerov could very well be a civilian. There are many of those, armed, and running around there eastern regions – on both sides.
