Russian Special Forces Carried Out Bloody Provocation in Slovyansk

on 04/20/2014 | | Donbas | Main News | News Print This Post Print This Post

Slovyansk separatismTonight in Slovyansk which is controlled by Russian mercenaries and separatists, demonstrative provocations planned by Russian GRU took place. The purpose of those provocations was to create an image for Russian TV which can be used as yet another excuse of the escalation of the situation in the region.

Having analyzed the crime situation in certain areas of Slovyansk, on April 19 Russian special forces covered by the local separatist forces carried out provocations in the areas densely populated by gypsies. This resulted in a hassle between the local criminal elements from the gipsy environment and separatists from the roadblock “Bylbasovka” in the night of April 20. As a result, one person was killed and several people were injured. Russian media almost immediately and in unison began to distribute off-the-shelf information that the alleged Ukrainian nationalists from the so-called “Pravy Sector” (Right Sector) armed with smoke boxes and night viewing device made in USA attacked the “civilians” in Slovyansk. After that in the afternoon the Russian Foreign Ministry issued a statement (#932-20-04-2014) in which they stressed out that the Ukrainian side does not honor the conditions of the quadripartite agreement in Geneva between Russia, the U.S., the EU and Ukraine during which there were calls to refrain from any acts of violence, intimidation and provocation.

However, it is known  that approximately 30-35 persons were released from the Slovyansk police station (which is controlled by the separatists and pro-Russian militants) who were detained for administrative and criminal offenses. These persons received instructions from their curators from Russian secret services and were released to carry out provocations in Slovyansk.

Thus the Russian government continues to cynically misinform its citizens and tries to discredit the Ukrainian side in the eyes of the world community. We kindly ask the international community to respond promptly and adequately to these glaring facts and attempts to destabilize the situation in the South-East of Ukraine by the Russian special forces.
