The head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Valentyn Nalyvaichenko, speaking on air on the “5th Channel” stated that cell leaders of the Communist Party (of Ukraine) had been arrested for supporting terrorism and separatism. Those arrested were now testifying on terrorist and separatist activities undertaken by the Communist Party.

According to Nalyviachenko the biggest threat to national security has always existed from the activity of the Communist Party which is openly funded from abroad. The Communist Party called for a change in the constitutional order through the activity of its cells, “As soon as the Yanukovich government was overthrown by the people of Ukraine, and had fled from Kyiv, the Communist Party began to utilize its cells to facilitate the transfer of cash and weapons to pro-Russian separatists organizations in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions and in Crimea. In fact, the communists were vigorous promoters and strong associates of separatists who organized and carried out the seizure of buildings and intimidation of the population. And as a result of this we now have torture chambers, concentration camps and executions of civilians in Donbas, while the communists pretend they have had nothing to do with that”, said Nalyvaichenko.

“Now the leaders of the communist cells arrested in Donbas by order of the court based on the material of the SBU and other law enforcement agencies provide clear evidence during interrogations. This is why criminal proceedings will be initiated against high-ranking officials, who together with the criminals and the DPR and LPR terrorist groupings, are terrorizing civilians in the part of Donbas”, he stressed.

The head of SBU emphasized that all former and current officials and oligarchs — regardless of the names, who are involved in the financing of terrorism in Donbas, will be brought to justice.
