During the filtration actions performed by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) together with the ATO forces, two citizens of Ukraine were detained at a checkpoint in Olenivka village (Volnovaskyi district of the Donetsk region). The detainees are Rodion Viktorovych Synko (1997 YOB, a native and a resident of Ilovaisk) and Oleksiy Mykolayovych Shekovtsov (1982 YOB, a native and a resident of Khartsyzk).

The criminals following the instructions of the Russian special services tried to enter the territory controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to perform acts of sabotage aimed at destabilization of the situation in the region.

Synko and Shekhovtsev had certificates of the “Ministry of State Defense of the Donetsk People’s Republic”, “Vostok” battalion with photos and call signs “Siniy” (“Blue”) and “Zakhar”.

According to available information, Synko served in the DPR as a guard and an executioner of Ukrainian servicemen and civilians. Shekhovtsov was a militant of the “Vostok” Battalion deployed to the seized building of the State Motor Vehicle Inspectorate of Khartsyzk.

The Security Service of Ukraine has registered criminal proceedings against the detainees based on the evidence of the crime pursuant to the Article 258-3 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (“Creation of a terrorist group or terrorist organization”).
