The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Counter-Intelligence detected and stopped illegal activity of a leader of a subversive group, which acted in the area controlled by Ukrainian military. The detainee, “D” (1989 YOB, call sign “Volk” — “Wolf”), is a resident of Alchevsk (Luhansk Oblast).
In the night of October 6 to October 7 the militant was detained during the commission of sabotage near Donetsk.
It was established that he created an underground network of informants who collected information on location, number of personnel, number and type of weapons, and movement of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, National Guard and volunteer battalions involved in the ATO.
He systematized and summarized the data gathered by the informants and passed the information to terrorist leaders with call signs “Joe” and “Khmuryi” (“Gloomy”).
The detainee confessed that he had realized that his activity had resulted in casualties among the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, law enforcers, and civilians.
Investigatory actions are in progress.
