On September 19, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) detained a local resident “C” (1958 YOB) in Pavlograd. “C” is suspected of involvement in the activities of the terrorist group, which was preparing a series of terrorist acts against industrial targets of the region.

The terrorist group was created by Russian special services in order to destabilize the situation in the region. The group was neutralized by SBU in early September just before the attackers had planned to commit a terrorist act at a large industrial enterprise.

The members of the subversive groups led by a local businessman were told that they were suspected of committing crimes in accordance with the Articles 258-3 (Creation of a terrorist group or terrorist organization), and 263 (Unlawful handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

During the initiated criminal proceeding, the SBU Counterintelligence established involvement of “C” in the activities of the criminal group. “C” was in close association with the DPR terrorists and received instructions from them.

During the search of the detainee’s room, the SBU found and seized ammunition for automatic weapons and grenades.

Pre-trial investigations are in progress.
