The counter-intelligence section of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) detained three citizens of Ukraine near Volnovakha (Donetsk region). The detainees are  militants of the so-called “Oplot Special Forces”. They were performing reconnaissance of Ukrainian emplacements.

It was established that the members of the illegal paramilitary formation participated in armed hostilities against the Ukrainian military, and collected and passed intelligence information on the disposition, size, and movement of units of the ATO forces to terrorists.

SBU officers seized firearms, ammunition, surveillance equipment, and “Oplot” ID card from the detainees.

Criminal proceedings against the criminals in terms of Article 258-3 (Creation of a terrorist group or terrorist organization) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine have been initiated.
