Ukraine Imposes Sanctions Against the Company that Participated In Seizure of Ukrainian Sailors

On December 10, 2018, the international volunteer intelligence community InformNapalm published an article “Hybrid Business in the Pay of the Kremlin: Blocking Kerch Strait” . The article was then translated into 7 languages. The article stated that Yuvas-Trans LLC provided its vessels to block the passage of Ukrainian military ships under the arch of the Kerch bridge on November 25, 2018. On the same day, Russian occupants fired at and seized Ukrainian ships, capturing Ukrainian sailors.

InformNapalm OSINT analysts conducted an investigation and discovered that Yuvas-Trans LLC and its affiliates are also involved in smuggling, regular violations of Ukrainian and international laws, and possibly a large-scale tax evasion. There is also suspicion of double citizenship (illegal in Ukraine), participation in organized crime, and, finally, blocking of Ukrainian navy ships.

Now, the President of Ukraine has issued the decree № 82/2019 approving the decision by the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council, adopted on March 19, 2019 and titled “On Implementation, Cancellation and Amending  Special Personal Economic and Other Restrictive Measures (Sanctions)”. Details can be found on the Council’s website.

The included PDF files offer a list of persons and companies included in the sanctions.  The list includes Yuvas-Trans LLC and its affiliates that had been covered in InformNapalm investigations.

This is an example of how citizen activism helps achieve important goals. This is yet another step towards the de-occupation of our land.

We are grateful to everyone who helped us in our investigation. Together we will prevail!
