All about the Ammunition Transshipment Camp in the Russkoye Village, Rostov Oblast

While performing a new OSINT-investigation we found a Ammunition Transshipment Camp in the cross country near the village of Russkoye, Rostov Oblast in 10 miles from the ‘Marynivka’ checkpoint on the Ukrainian border.

The information about this camp has appeared on the net for several times already, but the decision was made to collect all the data in one place, moreover the Russian Yandex.Maps began to update the maps showing the concentration of the Russian troops on the border with Ukraine. It should be noticed that you can find Yandex.Maps updates for any year (2012, 2013 etc.) except 2015. A simple comparison with Google.Maps shows clearly that doing so ‘Yandex’ is just trying to conceal the fact of updating its maps with the Russian military vehicles, field camps and destructions on the occupied part of Donbas. No wonder.

The panorama view of the camp was shown on the net in the end of February 2015. “Judging by the weather on the picture it is not winter” – many Russians would think, but the fact that there was no snow in the area at that time of the year can be easily checked in the Internet.

The panorama photo was made by Batyr Kasbayev. It is a common thing that such photos are already deleted from the profile, but you can find them in the Google cache of Batyr Kasbayev albums.

According to geotags, Batyr was noticed many times in this camp near the village of Russkoye and also in the settlement Matveev-Kurgan where, supposedly, the ammunition is reloaded from railroad cars to the military trucks.

A good external analysis of the camp  was made by @DajeyPetros using Google Earth. And most questions were raised by the white truck entering the camp, because it is too similar to the white trucks of Putin’s ‘humanitarian convoys’.

The picture of the ammunition load/unload featuring the Buryats in this camp was seen all over the net and was embedded in different demotivational posters titled “Donbas. Newcomers . . .“, etc.

Here we see the Russian soldiers noticed in the camp near the village of Russkoye with the railroad echelons in the background which are used mainly for the ammunition transportation. Most likely the pictures were taken in the area of the settlement Matveev-Kurgan mentioned above.

Explanation. On the photos with the label ‘Matveev-Kurgan raion’ the geotag is shown incorrectly as after the study of this area with the help of the maps it becomes clear that these photos are most probably of the camp near the village of Russkoye.

Here is a disclosed communication point, it is shown on the maps and indicated by @DajeyPetros above. The panorama winter photo mentioned above was taken from the same altitude, also we see the panorama photo of this part of the camp taken in the spring of 2015.

Artyom Akopyan and Yegor Ivanov from the 99th automobile supply brigade (Southern Military District) were noticed during the ammunition transportation from Taganrog to the transshipment camp near the village of Russkoye. Most probably, almost all of the noticed Russian soldiers  this camp are the drivers of the Southern military district.

Artyom Akopyan and Yegor Ivanov with their trucks were also noticed in the village Starorotovka near the village Matveev-Kurgan.

The soldiers showed off in Taganrog between the central airport of Taganrog and military town, making a memento selfie. How can you go out without a selfie?!

So in the profile of  Yegor Ivanov we see the pictures of military trucks near the planes. Is this a coincidence?! I don’t think so. Most probably, the ammunition is transported to Taganrog by planes, and later – to different transshipment camps.

In the end it should be noticed that Yegor Ivanov helped us to notice the big military trucks convoy from the Volgograd area to the Ukrainian border in February, 2015.

And also the Russian soldiers of the 99th brigade were noticed on the ‘Donbas-arena’ stadium  in Donetsk (Ukraine).
