On March 6, 2014, at 9:00 PM an intensive bombardment on positions of the Ukrainian armed forces at the village of Pisky, Donetsk Airport, and the town of Avdiivka began.
The shelling of the Ukrainian positions began at 9:00 PM from the city of Makiivka, which is under control of separatists.
Repeated shelling came from the Yakovlev shaft of the Zasyadko coal mine (48°04’50.2″N 37°49’43.6″E) towards Avdiivka.
At 9:15 PM, firing started from the “Objezdnaia” district (48°05’26.1″N 37°50’49.8″E), as well as another militant firing point on the road to the Grekovo pond (48°05’27.9″N 37°49’57.1″E).
Militants have built a fortified district in the Michurin village of the city of Horlivka. The movement of military equipment and arrival of new personnel have been observed there (48°22’6″N 37°58’54″E). According to preliminary information, all the troops are from Russia.
Luhansk residents reported from within the city that militants fired large-caliber guns with great intensity, presumably from BM-30 Smerch multiple rocket launchers. Local residents were told that it was a military exercise.
Let us remind you that the railway road, damaged in a recent battle, in the city of Debaltseve has already been repaired. Temporary railway tracks from neighboring stations have been laid out quickly.
Observers reported that on March 6, enemy equipment and personnel was unloaded at the Debaltseve railway junction. Two cargo trains arrived from Russia with more than 20 tanks, armored vehicles, and several cars with ammunition. Five train cars with personnel arrived also. The equipment has been accumulating in Debaltseve. Tanks and armored vehicles are awaiting for the next train to be moved to a new location.
The coordinates of the location where equipment is being loaded on the trailers and ammunition on the trucks are: 48°20’11.1″N 38°24’11.4″E.
One temporary railroad track is in service, which is used to bring military equipment from Russia. Then, the equipment is distributed to Horlivka via Vuhlehirsk highway, or it goes deep into the occupied territories of the DPR.
We hope information about the coordinates will be helpful for the OSCE observers.
