    Briefing of the Joint Forces Operation Press Center at 18:00, 4 July 2019

    Beginning from 00:00 of the day, the enemy violated the ceasefire regime 16 times.

    Units of the Russian Federation Armed Forces opened fire on our troops using weapons banned by the Minsk Agreements, particularly, 122-mm caliber artillery systems, 120-mm and 82-mm caliber mortars, and also using grenade launchers of the various systems, anti-aircraft systems, large-caliber machine guns, and small arms.

    In the area of responsibility of the operative-tactical group “EAST,” the adversary opened fire on the Joint Forces’ positions seven times:

    Near the village of OPYTNE, from the direction of VESELE – using an under-barrel grenade launcher and a large-caliber machine gun;

    Near LEBEDYNSKE, from the direction of UZHIVKA, twice – using a tripod-mounted anti-tank grenade launcher and a large-caliber machine gun;

    In the vicinity of BEREZOVE, from the direction of YASNE and DOKUCHAYEVSK, twice – using automated grenade launchers, anti-aircraft systems, and small arms;

    Near the village of PISKY, from the direction of VESELE – using an 82-mm caliber mortar and a tripod-mounted anti-tank grenade launcher;

    Near VODIANE, from the direction of PIKUZY – using a portative anti-tank grenade launcher, a large-caliber machine gun, and small arms.

    In the area of responsibility of the operative-tactical group “NORTH,” the adversary opened fire on the Joint Forces’ positions nine times:

    Near NOVHORODSKE, from the direction of HORLIVKA – using a 120-mm caliber mortar;

    Near KRYMSKE, from the direction of CHERVONOHVARDIYSKE and DONETSKE, twice – using 122-mm caliber artillery systems and 82-mm caliber mortars;

    Near the village of NOVOTOSHKIVSKE, from the direction of LOZIVSKE and DONETSKE, twice – using 122-mm caliber artillery systems, 120-mm mortars, and tripod-mounted anti-tank grenade launchers;

    Near LUHANSKE, from the direction of KALYNIVKA – using a 120-mm caliber mortar and grenade launchers of the various systems;

    In the vicinity of POPASNE, from the direction of PERVOMAISK – using 120- and 82-mm caliber mortars;

    In the vicinity of PIVDENNE, from the direction of the GAGARIN mine – using grenade launchers of the various systems, and small arms;

    Near NOVOLUHANSKE, from the direction of DOLOMITNE – using an 82-mm caliber mortar.

    As a result of the enemy fire, one Ukrainian military service person was wounded, and two received combat-related traumas. Our troops answered adequately to each case of fire opened by the Russian Federation Armed Forces. The adversary’s casualties are being investigated. Today, July 4, near the village of Maryinka, Senior Private Eduard Loboda has died of severe wounds received during a combat mission.

    On July 3, armed units of the Russian Federation Armed Forces have violated the ceasefire regime 29 times. Thirteen times, the violations involved the use of weapons prohibited by the Minsk Agreements, particularly, 122-mm caliber artillery systems, 120-mm and 82-mm caliber mortars. The adversary also opened fire on our defenders using grenade launchers of the various systems, weapons carried by the armored vehicles of the infantry, anti-aircraft systems, large-caliber machine guns, and small arms.

    The facts of disturbing fire opened by the adversary were documented near the villages and towns of VODIANE, OPYTNE, MARYINKA, AVDIYIVKA, LEBEDYNSKE, NOVOHRYHORIVKA, KRASNOHORIVKA, ZAITSEVE, TRAVNEVE, NOVOLUHANSKE, PIVDENNE, POPASNA, MAYORSK, NOVHORODSKE, and KRYMSKE.

    On July 3, the representatives of the National Police of Ukraine and the National Guard of Ukraine acting as parts of the Joint Forces have uncovered 7 cases of theft, 2 cases of fraud, 3 facts of illegal firearms trade, and 10 facts of illicit drug possession. Six persons were arrested on suspicion of participating in the activities of the Russian Federation Armed Forces and transferred to the judicial organs. Sixteen cases of misdemeanor were reported.

    Yesterday, more than 19,000 persons and 2,300 vehicles entered the Joint Forces’ jurisdiction through the controlled points of entry. Eighteen thousand eight hundred persons and 2,200 vehicles exited the jurisdiction through the same points. Twenty-nine persons were denied the right to cross the demarcation line.

    The military and civilian administrative and judicial organs in the area of the Joint Forces operation worked according to their routine schedules. The social, political, and humanitarian situation remains under the Joint Forces’ control.
