Nuclear waste repository exists in the territory of the State Enterprise Dontesk Factory of Chemical Products [Ukr.: Донецький завод хімічних виробів, Rus.: Донецкий завод химических изделий], located at Sofiyska Street, 1, Donetsk.  Approximately 150 containers with the used ionizing radiation source material are stored in this repository. Before the war the repository was controlled by Donestk Specialized Industrial Complex [Ukr.: Донецький державний спеціалізований комбінат, Rus.: Донецкий государственный специализированный комбинат], located at Shakhtarskoy Slavy Street, 2, Donetsk. Both enterprises and their premises are now controlled by the so-called Dontesk People’s Republic.

The storage regime of the nuclear waste repository at the Factory of Chemical Products remains uncontrolled and is further complicated by the artillery shelling of this area, which lead to the partial destruction of the top layers of the protective concrete cover.

According to our insiders, leaders of the so-called ‘Donetsk People Republic’ terrorist group are contemplating plans to use the nuclear waste containers from this repository to create a dirty bomb for terrorist activities against the people of Ukraine and, possibly, to supply other international terrorist organizations.
