At around 10.50, on July 01, 2019, an ambulance vehicle of one of the units of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) was cynically and insidiously attacked by the Russian occupation forces when Ukrainian military medics on active duty were evacuating a wounded soldier near the village of VODIANE. The militants targeted the medical Hummer with an anti-tank guided weapon (ATGW).
As a result of the direct hit by an antitank guided missile, one serviceman died on the spot. Two other JFO servicemen were injured. In particular, one of the wounded, a military medic, is in critical condition.
The Joint Forces command emphasizes that shelling of medical vehicles is in violation of the international military and humanitarian law. The insidious targeting of a medical vehicle by the Russian occupation forces is yet another indication that the occupiers are in contempt of any international legal norms.
Update: the military medic died of the received wounds.
