The Russian state officials just cynically lying when continue to claim that Russia is not involved in any ground operations in Syria.
Probably the Russian ‘polite people’ and ‘men in green’ are lost again. One might remember how they were lost in Crimea in 2014, later in Donbas and already at the end of 2015 – beginning of 2016 groups of these ‘lost ones’ can be identified in Syria. At the same time the Russian Ministry of Defense and the President’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov repeatedly state about the absence of the plans to maintain any land-based operation.
We hear again and again about their land forces units, which only guarding the airbase in Hmeymim and the base in the port of Tartus. But our volunteer experts based on OSINT analysis can proof that all of this is another lie.
Below are photos, which have been given to us by our insiders: you can see the Russian soldiers in their uniform, the Russian APCs as well as the KamAZ-5350 truck with MM 501 mine-resistant ambush protected module. The particular landscape and a road sign allow to easily identify Slanfah town in the Latakia province.
There is an interesting fact: recently the Assad’s army carried out combat actions against the Syrian opposition near Salma town, which is just 8 km from the place where these pictures were made. The Russian ‘LifeNews’ TV channel also aired an episode where one can see a number of the Russian ‘men in green’ and military equipment.
Also a video was uploaded to Youtube on January 12: two Russian officers watching military actions in the Salma area. Based on all of these facts it is possible to conclude that representatives of the Russian regular army take part in the operations against the moderate Syrian opposition.
We would like to remind our readers that on December 2, 2015, the InformNapalm group systematized and presented (together with a fellow Visuals project) infographics describing in details the Russian land based army units participated in the hostilities in Syria. Data from the open sources had been collected and analyzed: video uploaded to Youtube, and pictures from the social networks profiles of the Russian soldiers. One week later the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense’s Chief Intelligence Division confirmed this information by including the above mentioned list into its report.
