In the town of Shchastya, Luhansk Oblast, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) detained four informants of the so-called Luhansk People’s Republic. The informants gathered and intended to pass to the terrorists information on bases, number of personnel, and armament of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The criminal group was led by a “resident” of the terrorist organization of the so-called “Luhansk People’s Republic Foreign Intelligence Service”. It was established that he had planned to pass to the terrorists his list of Ukrainian patriots, whose families live in temporarily occupied territories. The militants planned to use family members of Ukrainian patriots as hostages for blackmail and cynical actions of intimidation of the local population.
Along with the “resident”, SBU detained three informants; one of them adjusted fire for the terrorists on civilian towns in Novoaidar Raion of Luhansk Oblast.
Investigative actions are in progress.
