Ukrainian Cyber Alliance (UCA) hacktivists shared with InformNapalm volunteer intelligence community a massive data dump from the mailbox of Kirill Frolov, Vice-Director of the Institute for CIS Countries, spokesman of the Union of Orthodox Citizens and “church-going expert” (FrolovLeaks).
If you read Frolov’s email communications for 1997-2016, you may realize that the guise of an Orthodox cultist clown, which was how he had been regarded by many, actually hid a rather active manipulator of religious concepts who strictly followed a covert doctrine of destabilization in Ukraine and violation of its territorial integrity. Frolov’s close connection to Sergey Glazyev, the Presidential Adviser on Regional Economic Integration, Vladimir Gundyayev (aka Kirill), Patriarch of Moscow, as well as to Konstantin Zatulin, member of the Council on Foreign and Defense Policy, Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and Director of the Institute of the CIS Countries determined his role in the processes deliberately and consistently implemented in the territory of Ukraine.
Analysis of Frolov’s mail leads to an inevitable conclusion that religion (not to be confused with faith) was used as a devious tool of deceiving and brainwashing (zombifying) people, thus forcing them into submission. It is no coincidence that religion has become the weapon of choice for the masterminds and adepts of the so called “Russian world”.
We have split the material into a series of episodes which only briefly touch upon the mixture of political and religious life. However, already after Episode II, we can see how the Moscow clergy and “Orthodox experts” who spread their tentacles into all areas of Ukrainian politics, get exposed left, right and center.

The original EML messages used in the preparation of this episode are available in the archive. The publication contains screenshots and attachments from those messages.
As early as in 2006, Frolov in his correspondence discusses the successor to the Kyiv cathedra (vopros-o-preemnyke-mytropolyta-kyevskogo-y-vseya-ukrayny). Boris Lukichev, representative of the Synodal Department and executive officer in the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation, responds to this message with hints at possible recruitment: “The material is helpful and will be used in our work. If any person involved is in Moscow, it would be good to meet by chance. I would like to travel, but privately, upon an invitation: the situation must be intensively analyzed as time is running out”.

The matter of the successor of the Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine
There are several candidates to become successor of Metropolitan Vladimir.
- Metropolitan of Odessa Agaphangel (Savin). The most pro-Russian candidate. In a certain political layout (strengthening of Yanukovych’s government, successful political reforms) he has the chance to become Metropolitan of Kiev. At the very least, we need to safeguard the influence of Metropolitan Agaphangel with any successor. Metropolitan Agaphangel strictly blocks any infiltrations of Western Ukraine elements to the Odessa eparchy.
- Metropolitan of Chernovtsy Onufriy (Berezovsky). Leader of the “honest monks” party – a group of bishops seeking the life of strict asceticism. This is their advantage. Their drawback is their political amateurism. Metropolitan Onufriy is considered a firm supporter of the unity of the Russian Church, however, the Zinchenko-Zuyev group is trying to play games with him offering him assistance in the moral and ethical “cleansing” of the episcopate in exchange for concessions in the matter of autocephaly (acknowledgment of the “autonomous church” status of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church should be the first step). The same group is expertly stimulating the conflict between Metropolitan Onufriy and Metropolitan Agaphangel.
Metropolitan Onuphriy is the leader of the “party of the saints” – a group of ascetic bishops (Archbishop of Ternopol Sergiy (Gensitsky), Archbishop of Kamenets-Podolsky Fedor (Gayun) and Archbishop of Pochayev Vladimir (Moroz). These people are very high of spirit, however, they have poor notion of today’s media and political technologies as well as of missionary activities. Therefore, we cannot surrender Metropolitan Onufriy to the orange [Ed.: democratic politicians favoring closer ties with the West]. This group should be taught informational and missionary technologies, get help creating eparchial websites and media services and take bishop courses at the Russian Academy of Civil Service.
We have to reconcile Metropolitan Onufriy and Metropolitan Agaphangel.
We have to put our maximum effort into working with Archbishop of Ternopol Sergiy – he is the purest of all. He has to be transferred to the East – to the Kharkov cathedra where Metropolitan Nikodim is seriously ill while his assistant bishop Onufriy (Legkiy) is a West-Ukrainian dragging West-Ukrainian pro-autocephalous clergy to the East. In certain conditions Archbishop Sergiy can be considered as the optimal successor.
Many of the messages show that Frolov and his contacts were not only studying the situation in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate but also had their own leverage within that organization.

Subject: details of the Council
Details of the Council of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church on January 24.
The day was saved by three hierarchs who reversed the situation – Metropolitan of Odessa and Izmail Agaphangel, Bishop of Khust and Vinogradov Hippolytus (Khilko) and Bishop of Glukhov and Konotop Innocent (Shestopal), disciple of Metropolitan Agaphangel.
ARCHBISHOP OF LVOV AND GALICIA AUGUSTINE spoke in support of Yushchenko’s proposition. His political partner, deputy of the Party of Regions Yuriy Boldyrev who brought news about his fact shrugs his shoulders and says he has no control over the situation with Archbishop Augustine. Probably, this is the result of the pressure from Victor Kulakevych, assistant of Archbishop Augustine, who blatantly expresses his orange views, and from the orange lobby in the metropolia – fathers Drabinko, Zuyev and Dudchenko who have already tried approaching Augustine.
To sum it up – the situation at the Council was on the edge. The coordinated position of Agaphangel, Innocent and Hippolytus resulted in the decision to avoid the term “Local Ukrainian Church” as such. However, except Metropolitan Agaphangel, the bishops who are strongly against autocephaly are with small provincial cathedras which are not even capitals of the region. Therefore, we have to assist in their transfer to large city cathedras, such as the ones in Kharkov and Vinnitsa.
The Ukrainian Orthodox Church is in the permanent state of war which is reflected in the resolutions of the Synod (neryadovye-reshenyya-synoda-upts).

Subject: key resolutions of the Ukrainian Synod – the mistake has been corrected (the Council of December 22)
To: lobmax@mail.ru
Removal of Bishop Hippolytus is a good thing from the point of view of fighting extremism but also a bad thing from the point of view of vote count at the Council on December 22, Hippolytus could have spoken against separatist amendments to the Charter. Bishop Aleksandr Drabinko will of course speak for them and will try to convince others, for example, Bishop Antoniy (Pakanych). Therefore, we have to ensure one more session of the Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (scheduled for December 20) before December 21 where the resolution on filling the currently vacant position in the Mukachevo eparchy which is now under the guidance of Archbishop of Khust Mark, is to be passed. The best candidate is Archimandrite Fedor (Mamasuyev), the confessor at the Saint Nicholas Monastery in Mukachevo, a Russian man. Here the interests of father Dmitry Sydor should be taken into account – this priest cannot be abandoned.
WE MUST PERFORM THE BISHOP CONSECRATIONS NECESSARY FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF THE UNITY OF THE RUSSIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH BEFORE THE COUNCIL, EVEN IN THE MORNING OF DECEMBER 22 – all bishops will be holding services anyway. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO OVERCOME THE EXISTING DISBALANCE. It would be great to ensure a couple of other consecrations – of father Tykhon (Maslennikov) (Melitopol) and father Tykhon (Zhylyakov) (Lugansk region). We need to talk to the candidates about the Charter and to work with the active bishops as well. Moscow has its point in the argument – now that you have promoted Drabinko to bishop, make some adequate pro-Russian bishops, too.
Frolov’s correspondence reveals a lot of interesting facts about the behind-the-scenes struggle, manipulations and provocations which the clergy are successfully using. The document on the Father Superior of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra (na-namestnyka-kyevo) is among the most interesting ones. Frolov discusses the running of father Pavel in the elections to the city council from the Party of Regions (18-aprelya-sostoyalos-zasedanye-synoda-upts-mp).

On June 5, 2008, in anticipation of the Bishops’ Council of the Russian Orthodox Church, Frolov writes a note to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Avorobyov@MID.ru) – ultrafundamentalysty, on the “Ukrainian issue”. The note shows the pressure exerted on Ukraine through the government and church channels.

One more thing. Tomorrow Yushchenko will visit the Solovetsky Islands. It would be logical if the “hard-line monks” spoke to him against the dissent and Varfolomey.
In the end of December 2008, after the death of the Patriarch of Moscow Alexy II, the relations between the Russian and the Ukrainian Orthodox Churches deteriorated. In that respect, Frolov writes a note to Zatulin on the ways to neutralize the attempts of the Ukrainian Church to gain independence – vybory-patryarha-moskovskogo-y-vseya-rusy-y-ukraynskaya-pravoslavnaya-tserkov; vybory-patryarha-zatulynu-srochno (updated text). The same text is then sent to V. Surkov (pysmo-surkovu). The messages contain analysis of the publications in the Ukrainian mass media on the subject of establishment of a single local Ukrainian church (unyan-protyv-mytr-kyrylla). Before the elections, Frolov prepares a testimonial on the Ukrainian episcopate for Metrolopitan Kirill and Zatulin (epyskopat-upts-mp-dlya-mk) and informs them on the tendencies existing before the Council (nekotorye-podrobnosty-predsobornogo-soveshhanyya-v-kyeve).

Yes. Mention it.
The wish is – how to use the situation to split Ukraine and buy up the assets.
After the election of the Patriarch of Moscow, K. Frolov who had been actively corresponding with him when he was yet the Metropolitan and who put a lot of effort into him being elected, started exerting even more influence on the church processes. For example, he wrote an interesting report to the Patriarch (patryarhu). The screenshot below shows Frolov’s role – to explain the sensitive Ukrainian issues to the Patriarch “in layman’s terms”.

Then we have to explain all this to Patriarch Kirill in layman’s terms.
The hacked correspondence also contains direct indications of Russia’s attempts to influence the church in Kharkiv. Sergey Moiseyev, a pro-Russian and pro-imperial activist working in the area of church to public relations in this city, is discrediting the eparchy members defending the Ukrainian church autonomy and informing on them. All events organized by Moiseyev support the Russian cultural, religious and political expansion: “the Russian Easter”, “the St. George March”, etc. . (borky-patryarhu; pysmo-maksymu-markovu; russkaya-pasha-svyatejshemu-patryarhu, svyatoj-georgyj-svyazal-moskvu-y-harkov). The expected result of this work was Moiseyev’s active participation in the violent events of the “Russian spring” in Kharkiv in March and April 2014. He defected to Moscow shortly afterwards.

Judging from the below-mentioned, the preparation of the Patriarch’s meetings with N. Azarov and, above all, with the Minister of Education, Professor Dmytro Tabachnyk – an Orthodox pro-Russian intellectual – is becoming the key item on the agenda. The most elegant scenario is for Professor Tabachnyk to introduce the Fundamentals of the Orthodox Culture in the schools of Ukraine immediately following the meeting with His Holiness, not on a lower level. Also, an important thing is to create a joint Russian-Ukrainian working group to put together a textbook on the Fundamentals of the Orthodox Culture for Ukraine. It would be logical if on the Russian side this group is led by Kurayev, on the Ukrainian side – by Tabachnyk himself.
Metropolitan Hilarion Alfeyev is also working on the Ukrainian matters. It is to him that Frolov sends a confidential document titled the Master Plan (generalnyj-plan-po-ukrayne) which, among other things, refers to using the subject of the victory in World War II. Subject: our chance, our interest. What does churching of the Victory Day mean?
To: Vladimir Legoyda <lvr@sinfo-mp.ru>
The Patriarch and the Victory Day
Kirill Frolov
So, the Patriarch referred to the Victory Day as to the “Holy Day” and thus ruined this two-sided game by a certain company where one people “in the name of the Church” support collaborationism and General Vlasov, while others exaggerate what the first are doing in attempt to present His Holiness Patriarch Kirill as almost the protector of a bunch of Vlasovites. For example, the Izvestia published another “Klin scribble” stinking of the “presumed guilt” of His Holiness. Allegedly, the “church officials” need no guerilla priests. Klin’s column permeated with artificial mistrust towards the Patriarch, although the journalist confirms his rejection of moral relativism, however, between the lines one can clearly read the idea that the priests who were helping partisans are not “in fashion” now, but other kinds of “priests”. At the same time, the priest is on the partisans’ side, he refuses to read funeral services for the “police goons”. And there was a new piece of “Klin scribbles” with word-for-word translation following the Patriarch’s speech about the Holy Victory Day.
Why am I paying so much attention to all this? Because it is the Russian Orthodox Church which can and must provide a profound, historiosophical, “canonical”, “mainstream” validation of the Victory Day. For there are two trends – towards Vlasov or towards Stalin. Today’s Russian leadership needs neither of them. It needs the Victory! The Victory of the Russian people and the allied peoples which became possible because the atheistic totalitarian power, for the purposes of its own survival, appealed to the traditional Orthodox purpose of existence for Russia. Consequently, this Orthodox purpose is the true weapon of Victory! Both in 1945 and in 2010!
Therefore, President Dmitry Medvedev must inspect the May 9 parade, and Patriarch Kirill must bless it and inspire its participants with his prophetic word.
This is exactly why the agreement signed between the Moscow Patriarchate and the Ural Federal District (I do recommend this very useful document (http://www.interfax-religion.ru/?act-documents&div=1009) is a step towards signing a similar document at the federal level.

These are purely my thoughts, strictly confidential. Father Andrey Kurayev can confirm them. He was informed of Bishop Aleksander’s (Drabinko) attempts to declare him persona non-grata in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate.
Some of Frolov’s statements show his true devotion to the Orthodox values especially clearly. For example, this is what he writes about Lech Kaczyński, President of Poland who was killed near Smolensk:

This text written by Frolov is but one of the many indicators of the fact that the Russian Orthodox Church in certain ways is more akin to a political party than a religious congregation. Kirill Frolov
I have spent the entire day talking with Orthodox people from Kharkov, both priests and laypeople. All of them are committed to an active mission, the unity of the Russian Church, de-Banderization of the Sloboda Ukraine and the whole of Ukraine. These people are active on the Internet, they issue a newspaper, they appear on TV. However, it turned out that they know nothing of the crucial decisions made by the Hierarchy by which missionary activities and catechesis are the duty of each parish.
Hilarion Alfeev, head of the department of external church relations, apparently, has some leverage on the persons implementing the state policy of Ukraine – this is obvious from Frolov’s multiple messages to him containing his recommendations.

I have some unofficial information for you from President of Ukraine V. Yanukovych. He wanted you to know that if there as a phone call from His Holiness, he will dismiss Yu. Reshetnikov – Head of the State Committee on Religions of Ukraine, a cultist of the neo-charismatic cult, Tymoshenko’s protégé. Victor Yanukovych’s team is trying to move Victor Voronin to this position. Voronin is a pro-Russian Orthodox, he makes his confessions and communions in the Moscow Patriarchate. Both he and Dmytro Tabachnyk were christened by father Vladislav Dobryden from the Military Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate.
Voronin has written some smart, professional articles against glorification of dissenters and Banderites. In fact, Victor Voronin, a PhD in history, is, at the very least, a true co-author of many books by the Minister of Education of Ukraine Dmytro Tabachnyk. They are outstanding works speaking against attempts to rewrite history and supporting the spiritual unity of Ukraine and Russia. Generally, D. Tabachnyk and V. Voronin is the intellectual tandem of key characters, intellectuals on whom we need to put our stake. I will send you V. Voronin’s curriculum vitae.
Also it would be logical if we used the current situation to remove the Ukraine State Committee on Religions as a totalitarian atavism and to create instead a Presidential Council on Interaction with Traditional Confessions similar to what Russia has and make sure no dissenters are allowed there.
Voronin’s curriculum vitae is attached below.
Also, please find attached the material on strengthening the union of the Leader of the Church and the Leader of the Russian State. Dmitry Medvedev is a fan of rock music and used to play in a rock band when he was in high school. So, the experience of an Orthodox rock mission (including yours) will be an important part of his catechesis and his evolution into an Orthodox politician.
I am also attaching the material on the overt connections between the “anti-Patriarch underground” and the extreme anti-Russian forces in Ukraine. In Ukraine itself, these forces have been removed from power. At the same time, in Russia they seem to be still trying to influence the Orthodox community without getting a proper rebuff.
Frolov’s correspondence shows that the church is used as a tool of interference into the domestic affairs of Ukraine. High-profile churchgoers, for example, DmytroTabachnyk, are regarded as potential agents of influence: “Please do all possible to arrange a private meeting – he would like to confidentially discuss a wide range of issues. Please inform His Holiness that it is Tabachnyk who is the acknowledged leader of pro-Russian forces and the most consistent supporter of the interests of the Moscow Patriarchate” (v-odesse-ot-ymeny-pravytelstva-svyatejshego-budut-soprovozhdat-vytse

It is no secret to me that certain prominent persons in His Holiness’s inner circle are trying to isolate him from active, energetic people capable of making a powerful Patriarch’s team which can truly church Russia.
I do not know whether it is a deliberate treason or whether the reason is much plainer – these people are afraid of any strong and remarkable personality in contrast to which some of the Patriarch’s subordinates will look incompetent.
Anyway, the damage is significant. Such people as Zatulin, D. Tabachnyk and many others are just shoved aside.
I think that the matter of Orthodox Seliger and the Corps can be put into motion by a combination of several methods – informing the Patriarch via several alternative sources (confessor schema-archimandrite Ilia, Metropolitan Hilarion (Alfeyev), Archbishop Arseniy, Head of Department of Religious Education and Catechesis, Bishop Mercurius).
Also we should not ignore the official channels – via the Secretariat. They must inform His Holiness personally about everything.
If we choose Ilia, it is going to be rather efficient.
And, of course, we should start preparation of the Patriarch’s meeting with Vladimir Yurievich.

1 – legal termination of the dissenting “Kiev Patriarchate”, investigations of the facts of “Kiev Patriarchate” recruiting gunmen for Basayev which could have dealt a deadly blow to the dissent and on the idea as such, pro-Orthodox and pro-Russian “Synod of the Orthodox Greek-Catholics of Ukraine” which could have allowed dealing a determined blow to the Uniate church and bringing a significant part of the Galicia to the Orthodox faith.
Termination of these projects is a crushing blow to the Russian Church and Russia’s key interests.
Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Nationalities and Religions of Ukraine Victor Voronin describes the situation as follows: Yanukovych’s assistant, Hanna Herman, will try to prevent creation of the Presidential Council on Interaction with Traditional Confessions where no dissenters will be allowed – it will be a blow to her Uniate friends. By the way, the Committee was terminated when I issued the instructions on prompt registration of Podgora Synod of the Orthodox Greek-Catholic” of the Ukrainian Orthodox Greek Catholic Church (this is an “alternative” structure of the Greek-Catholic Church loyal to the Orthodox faith and Russia) and made an inquiry to the law enforcement agencies about the old case of the Kiev Patriarchate recruiting gunmen in Azerbaijan – Herman found out about it. Until then, we remained a central organ. Hanna personally amended Yanukovych’s decree two hours before publication”.
Therefore, termination of the State Committee on Nationalities and Religions of Ukraine is by no means a triumph of the Russian Church, but a “special op” aimed at eliminating one person – Victor Voronin, a faithful son of the Russian Church, a true supporter of its interests.
In this respect, I believe we must ensure:
Victor Voronin’s promotion to the Administration of the President of Ukraine where he would be able to continue his extremely important service
creation of a Presidential Council on Interaction with Traditional Confessions similar to what Russia has and deliberately prevent dissenters from getting into it. Voronin, Victor Nikolaevich, is to be made Secretary of the Council.
After the killing of Egor Sviridov, a football fan, which triggered massive protests in 12 cities of Russia, on December 23, 2010, Frolov proposes to Patriarch Kirill (kir-379@yandex.ru) to stabilize the situation by making a statement that “by the pattern of the Undivided and Distinct Trinity, Russia is governed by a “trinity” – the President, the Prime Minister and the Patriarch”. The Patriarch, while making no claims to the political power, exercises spiritual one, thus uniting both the “tandem” itself and the entire Russian political elite (beglovu).
In his message of August 2010, Frolov lifts the curtain over the sacred idea of the “assemblage point of the Third Rome” which he believes to be nowhere else but in the Ukrainian Donetsk…

I AM MAKING myself love the common people to mission them. Otherwise, if there is no Orthodox Russian people, the elite of what are we going to be? Generals without an army.
Organizations of the “moral majority” are necessary, but the problem is that Volodikhin does not realize that the People’s Cathedral [Ed.: Russian ultra-nationalist and orthodox movement] is not one of them. It is ruled by cons who manipulate ordinary people to direct them at false goals and, the main thing, set them against the Patriarch. Just think about the Kucher saga [Ed.: most probably the reference is to V. Kucherenko aka Maksim Kalashnikov, one of the Cathedral’s coordinators]. In addition to Medvedeva and Shishova, Dobychin is also a member of the Central Committee of the People’s Council. They are not even thinking of throwing him out, while Volodikhin swallows it. This is what I am afraid of – that they may recruit him. Step by step. Kassin used to be quite adequate in the beginning, too.
As for Lvov – an Inter-Synodic Tribunal there would have been a thrill, besides, the city is beautiful. However, this cannot be allowed from the political standpoint, as it would mean that we are downgrading Lvov, while holding the Inter-Synodic Tribunal there will give an idea that we are attaching great importance to Galicia, that the Galicians remain the most important nation in Ukraine. We have to knock this notion out of Galicians.
At the same time, Donetsk is the key assemblage point of the Third Rome. The Donetsk clan which seized Ukraine has no messianic idea of their own. They are ready to listen to any prophet. If we fail to become such prophets, others will take our place – Sunday Adelaja or Hanna Herman.
